"This was a very cute and amazingly fkash from the past experience. Beautiful hotel. We stayed in the presidential suite and loved it. Very clean amd romantic. Only issue was a sign outside making noise so loud we coule hear it all night but naustalgia i guess. Hubby experienced a bit of paranormal noises. Lady crying and a few other things but i slept like a baby. Would stay again."

"The first room reeked of cigarettes and pot, TV didn’t work, phone to call front desk didn’t work. Second room reeked of cigarettes and pot. The area around the doors to room littered with cigarette butts. We won’t be staying there again. "

"We’ve been staying at Grant Hills for years. The rooms aren’t fancy, though are very clean and comfortable. We like the option to bring our pups with if we choose. The cost of a two night stay is many times less than one night in other Galena hotels. It’s always very quiet and there is a walking path not far away. "

"We only had 2 hiccups - it was set-back, behind anothe business which made it difficult to locate & carrying the big, heavy suitcases up/down the stairs to our room. Otherwise, it was a great place to stay. Would stay again, gladly!"

"easy parking in the AM, but front parking was full on friday after 8pm, had to park on the back of building. room carpet felt really worn out so had to keep sandals or at least socks on. but it was clean and so was the rest of the room. staff was really tentative and friendly but once you find them, they didnt stay by the lobby. breakfast 7 to 9, but at 8am there was nothing left on the hotplate, just cereal and salty coffee. pool was on the chilli side but it was clean and not smelly of...

"The chairs in the room are terribly uncomfortable to sit on (similar to a wooden bench). Also, they have soap and shampoo dispensers but the hotel never filled them and the TP was of the lowest quality."

"Loved this place! The sunshine and warmth in the solarium made me feel like we left the Midwest for spring break! The seating around the pool and pool and ping pong tables were nice when the kids wanted a break from the pool. Our room was clean and the coffee machine in the lobby was an added bonus. "

"You can't beat this location if you want to wander around Galena and the riverfront! Everything felt clean, safe and we had everything we needed, if in a bit of strange and old-world set up! This is an old building with lots of "charm", but as long as you are prepared for that you'll have a lovely stay. "

"The pool was icy cold. The shower was a just little bit warm almost cold. Foam plates are not acceptable for hot breakfast food. The door key worked after 5-8 attempts. Breakfast didn’t have any meat. The room didn’t have closet or hangers for jackets."

"The breakfast was awesome! The pool was freezing, and the hot tub was broken. The front desk staff were wonderful! They were experiencing technical difficulties because a storm took out the phone and internet, so they didn’t know if rooms were reserved, already rented, or available. They had to go back to pen and paper. "
