"Parking was okay. Didn’t seem like there were enough spots for how many rooms there were, but we didn’t have a problem finding a space. Felt safe. Quiet. Only complaints are lack of dresser or space to put things and the tv was terrible. Very few channels and not intuitive. "

"Stayed in a room overlooking the ocean and it was wonderful. You can open the window and hear the waves coming in and watch the surfers. Having breakfast delivered to your room in the morning was wonderful and the staff was very helpful. Would definitely stay again."

"It was a good location. That's why we chose it. But it was very "bare bones." The soap/shampoo in the shower was awful. There was a smell of smoke even though I thought we had a non smoking room. And when we woke up there was no hot water. It was remedied after my husband went to speak to the front desk. I would say the bathroom.waa clean but the shower has mold in it."

"You will have the feeling like you are staying at home. After check in, receptionist will give you a tour around the house from lobby to backyard. No receptionist or any staff after 8pm, the house is yours. You have the key and code to access and enjoy in lobby, have dinner at backyard or make a cup of coffee and have breakfast in dinning room. It’s the first time I have that unique service. I like that experience."

"The room was clean and looked newly renovated. There is a fire pit on the property and it’s right in Moonstone Drive across from the walking path that runs the length of Moonstone along the ocean. It’s beautiful."

Staff was incredibly rude when we discovered the pool/hot tub weren’t available, and didn’t mention it at check in. I requested a refund through Expedia and was only refunded $50, although I wouldn’t have booked here at all if I had known since we specifically chose this property for the pool/hot tub. "Over many years, I have stayed in many hotels and houses. I own rental homes on the island of Kauai for the past 36 years. Our stay at the Western States inn was wonderful, the room was very clean with all items and facilities in good working order upon arrival and throughout our stay to departure.
