We went on the off season, but the restaurant in the resort was still open. The resort is right on the corner of the main street so it is close to shopping, dining, and Mirror lake! Very convenient. The parking was also very easy, and again put us right at main street so we walked to dinner every night. There is an indoor pool and hot tub at the main resort and also across the street at the Lodge. Staff was very friendly. Refreshments in the lobby and sparkling wine given to us at check in!

You can't go wrong with High Peaks. We don't go usually because it's super expensive but rates were good this weekend. They are so kind with dogs. read the fine prints, there are some fees for your pooch. great staff, great time !

Went for two nights to celebrate our 14 year anniversary. Had an amazing time! The location is amazing it’s close to everything…it was breath taking! Highly recommend.

We’ve stayed here many times and always enjoy it. Prices have increased dramatically over the past few years so the frequency of stays has dropped substantially. Still try to make it 1-2 times per year.

I stayed lakeside my last time here and the main building this time. The main building room that I stayed in was remodeled and nice. The lobby is empty but actually very comfortable by the fireplace but it appears the lobby bar is always closed. It’s a fine hotel in a good location. Housekeeping at both sides of the property is weak but it is a difficult employment environment. This hotel wouldn’t be my first choice but is nice if you get the right price.

We're very happy with this hotel. The room is wonderful with a great mountain view. Easy walk to the stores and restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pool on the same floor was warm, very clean and comfortable.

The rooms are run down. Housekeeping varies daily depending on who services the room sometimes a full clean sometimes just bed made and towels partially replaced. Had to ask for toilet paper and coffee frequently over our two week stay. Internet never worked, they had me call the IT company. Great location on the lake side units but outside of that it’s a 2 star hotel at best.

Great location, great lobby, good parking, nice staff. The indoor pool is raggedy, the hot tub didnt work for the duration of our stay which in winter was a huge bummer. Rooms are nice enough, clean enough. Elevators are slow. Would be nice if during holiday week the potential of the property (hot yub, lobby bar) were up and running. For the price, was fairly disappointing.

The room was spacious and clean. It had direct access to the outdoors. The property is at the end of Main Street, the hub of Lake Placid. You can view dog sledding from your room and the morning view was amazing. They also offered hot chocolate and cookies at the main resort. The not so great...indoor pools were located at other properties across the street, and with the cold weather, you would not want to wet your hair and take a full change of winter clothing outside. The pool table was out of order. Lastly, the dog-friendly resort had barking dogs that did not end until about midnight. Lastly, there were times when the water that came out of the sink was very cloudy. Besides that, it was a great hotel, and I would highly recommend it.

I guess if it was summer where they put me would have been great. In the dead of winter I had to cross the street from the main hotel, go into a small building and go down the stairs to get to my room. It felt like I was going to a basement although the room looked right out to the lake and was nice. It felt very cut off from the main hotel. No one helped with my bags and to go and get the morning coffee I had to put on my boots, coat etc. I was not thrilled and should have asked to move but was rushing to get to my appointment.

The hotel was very nice. Microwave was an extra $10 there wasn’t one that could be used anywhere in the facility. The tv was glitchy because of the satellite reception and it couldn’t be blamed on the weather, it was a perfectly clear day.

Rooms were spacious which was great as I was hanging out around town while hubby was skiing. A few glitches though. We were given room keys…opened the door to find a couple already in there. Next day, room hadn’t been cleaned by the time I left at 1:30…when I came back, the bathroom had been cleaned but bed was unmade. Front desk thought that might be because I had left my nightgown on the bed- huh? We booked this hotel in part because of workout possibilities- online advertised yoga wed and sat etc. Turns out yoga only sat now…not a big deal, but I was already a bit irked by the other things. I did like the hotel though- coffee in the lobby in am, hot chocolate and cookies in the pm. I’d probably stay there again.

Value for money was excellent - quite time of year, loved the welcome greeting of a glass of sparkling wine, loved the complimentary coffee in the mornings and hot chocolate and cookies in the afternoon. Dancing Bears provides a great spot for lunch or supper! All in all a great few days at the High Peaks.

My favorite hotel in Lake Placid! Great location, easy parking and walkable. The lobby is lovely with a fireplace and sparkling wine! Rooms are comfortable and well maintained. Staff is courteous and available. They have many categories of rooms on Expedia and it's a little bit difficult to know exactly what type of room you will have (if that is important for you). Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and go back regularly.

There is so much I absolutely loved about this location! First the smell!!! Omg when you walk in it smells like Christmas! The lobby is stunning, the staff was so lovely and welcoming! We visited in November for my birthday which just so happened to be during the Can/Am games so it was quite busy in the town but the hotel was quiet and comfortable! The free coffee in the morning as well as the hot chocolate and cookies in the lobby in the afternoon after a chilly walk around mirror Lake was just the perfect touch! We will definitely be returning! Thank you for making my birthday so special!
