"Nice place to stay, it just feels a little old and worn out, doesn’t give the somewhat luxury feel you would think based on the pictures. The room wasn’t that clean and the staff didn’t explain anything when we checked in; nothing about the amenities or offered services. We just kind of figured it out. Felt like a 2 star/motel experience with a nice pool & jacuzzi. "
"The rooms need updating, theres no extras. My room was gloomy and drab. It looked like something out of the 1960's. But we only slept there.Other then that the place was great. "
"Definitely a value for your money but a little bit rough around the edges. One bedroom suite said it had a single couc bed which actually meant you’re sleeping on the couch. No pull out bed. Reached out to app never got a response. Heater broke, and was off upon arrival. Had to start pilot light ourselves. Overall happy with stay even though has to have space heaters brought in. Would have just got the two queens of we had known about no second bed. "
"The Ahwahnee hotel is conveniently located in Yosemite Valley and within walking distance to a couple of trails, as well as the Merced River. There is a bus stop at the hotel where you can catch a free shuttle to other areas of Yosemite Valley, which is perfect if you’re traveling during peak season and don’t want to deal with parking in other areas of the park. The common sitting areas are very comfortable with amble seating and huge fireplaces that you can sit in and warm up after a long day of hiking in cold weather. The views of Half Dome are fantastic and that alone makes the hotel worth it.
My only complaints about The Ahwahnee Hotel would be regarding the elevator and dining options. Only one elevator was working at the time of my visit and it kept getting stuck frequently, rendering it useless. I had to resort to using the stairs and being on the 3rd floor, this became a problem. Especially on check-out and check-in. I had to bring all my suitcases, along with my families, up and down the stairs, which was exhausting. Although, they did have someone tending to one elevator, as I mentioned, it kept getting stuck and was useless most of the time. In cases where it wasn’t stuck, there would be long wait times for the elevator service, which further delayed any planned trip for the day. At that point it was more convenient to walk up or down the stairs. Dining options at the restaurant or the bar are mediocre. The menu doesn’t have much to offer."
