"Fantastic family run hotel with a picturesque view over Sorrento. Not the most convenient location, but that is quickly overcome by the hotel's shuttle and the view of the sunset over the sea from the terrace with a Spritz. The modern rooms are welcoming and comfortable, incredibly spacious and nearly all with their private terrace. It's also located next to some traditional Italian restaurants serving the best food we had on the whole trip, and a private lemon grove that belong to the hotel....
"Wonderful place. Great views of the ocean over Sorrento from the room and the building terrace. The owner recommended the restaurant next door for dinner and that was fantastic. Would highly recommend! Also, only 15 minute by car or Sita bus to Positano or Sorrento depending on which way you decide to go. "
"I cannot speak highly enough of our incredible stay at Don Alfonso 1890. We felt as though we were being welcomed home by family. The atmosphere is so tranquil and relaxing, everything embellished tastefully with soft pastels of flowers and lemons and local fauna. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated with an in-room coffee maker and each day we would return to our room with a tiered platter of desserts and finger sandwiches - exactly what we needed to tide us over before dinner....
"My adult daughter and I stayed at Maison Tonina and it was the perfect get-away. It doesn't look like much on the outside but the rooms and common areas are absolutely charming. The walls are so thick that even though there was no vacancy during our stay, we didn't hear a peep from the other guests. The balcony and air conditioning (worked great!) were nice to come back to after a day out in the sun. There is no breakfast served — only 24 hour coffee and tea.
