"I recently stayed at this property and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. While the check-in process was smooth and efficient, several issues throughout our stay raised serious concerns. One of the first inconveniences was parking. It appears the hotel does not manage its own parking lot, requiring guests to use a third-party website for payment. This is not something I have previously encountered at a Hilton property and found it to be unnecessarily complicated. The most concerning issue was with the elevator. It shook noticeably during use, and at one point, the service-side door appeared to come off its hinge while we were inside. We were temporarily stuck until the door finally opened back onto the same floor. I reported the issue to the front desk, but the response felt dismissive—especially concerning given that my pregnant wife then had to use the stairs. Additionally, we had two rooms, and both had maintenance issues. The air conditioning units were loud, ineffective, and sounded as though they were on the verge of failing. One room had a broken toilet chain, the beds were uncomfortable, and overall upkeep seemed lacking. The pool was noticeably dirty, the hot tub jets were not functioning, and the breakfast presentation was unappealing, with the eggs sitting in water. "The hotel states it under went a full remodel. There were a few things wrong with our hotel room. Loose towel hook in the bathroom. Clogged toilet. Power outlet in bathroom didnt work. The carpet near the ac/heating unit was falling over. Was a little disappointed. The bed was comfortable though. "

"The Breakfast Buffet had a nice variety of food. The staff was very accommodating. Josue was very helpful on recommending some awesome local establishments and attractions. The Bar in the hotel was small but nice. The Jacuzzi was nice, pool was freezing. The are pet friendly but will charge for animal if not a service. All in all my family and i really enjoyed oir stay. We will definitely return if ever in the area again."

"Our check in experience was stupendous. The location of the Carlton in Atascadero is perfect for those that like to walk around and explore. The restaurants are walking distance and the free parking experience was a plus. Now the rooms were outstanding and super clean. I would recommend this hotel to any family member of close friend. You won't regret your stay! "

"Upon check in, the host was very quick and simply not interested in welcoming us. No hotel info given. The room was nice enough, the queen bed seemed really small. In the bathroom there was one lightbulb out, multiple spots of wall repairs without being repainted and hair not ours in the tub. The rest of the room was fine. Would choose a diff hotel next time. "
