Our experience at the Botanic Views Guesthouse was very good! My husband and I booked room #2 which had a private bathroom, we are so glad we did because we could shower and relax after a very very long flight! The place was extremely clean, yes it’s a bit worn in but completely comfortable and well taken care of. The unique little elevator up was so cool and we loved the location and building itself, so central and the absolute best place to book if you want to walk the town of Lisbon and be right in the heart of the city! The hostel felt safe, was very quiet from street noise and other guests and we loved the little breakfast Dina put together each morning! The stay was great and I would recommend to any couple, single or groups of travellers passing through Lisbon on a budget! Yes yes yes! Thank you Mohammed and Dina for the excellent stay!

Great location. The staff member we met was kind, we left before breakfast time on our checkout day and she prepared breakfast for us especially beforehand. The doors don’t stay shut unless locked, in combination with difficult to lock doors it was awkward at times. Bathroom facility was fine, but it should be cleaned/garbage emptied everyday considering how many rooms are using it. It was a little gross during the second day of our stay. The other reviews about the scary elevator are not lying! We walked up and down 4 flights almost every time, but if you’re brave and it’s needed, it is fully functional. Overall, amazing location close to good neighborhoods and the museum/garden in Lisbon, just don’t expect perfection in facilities or cleanliness.

On a positive note, the property was in a fantastic location. It was clean and offered a good breakfast. However, we experienced many issues, especially with check-in. When we arrived, no one answered the door or the phone number that was given on booking - in fact number from booking was not working at all. We waited around all day, which spoiled our first day in Lison and caused us a lot of anxiety. We got lucky because a mailman came by on our third time banging on the door and we followed him in. We finally located the Guest House and the cleaning lady let us in. She was not expecting us and had to call her boss to confirm. There was a lot of confusion about this and the parking. We were directed to the wrong parking spot initially. The keys didn't work well on the front door and was wonky on bedroom doors (have to use key to lock from inside). Instructions were sent late (after we already arrived) and said there was a key pad on the front door but there was only a lock. The keypad is inside the building. While the room was clean, it was in disrepair as was the bathroom (paint chipping, stains on the walls and chair), bathroom sink wobbly, the shower leaked into rest of bathroom and hallway and flooded floor, which is very dangerous. There were a lot of issues that would stop me from recommending this property. Expedia needs to step it up because there is a lot better host accountablity on AirBnB.

The dining options in the area were great. If you have a car, hard to park, but there is a place down the street that is not bad, 11 euros a day. Glad we had the room with a private bathroom.

I was allowed to check in very early in the AM, so I was especially appreciative of the warm welcome. Staff was extra helpful and friendly. They answered all my questions. Breakfast next morning was super. The coffee was amazingly good! Fantastic value: very convenient for walking; close to airport and even closer to the cruise ship terminal. Somebody smoked in the room even it prohibited and staff was not aware of it and has not tried to ventilate the room. Shower head was broken, so we could not use the shower the day we moved in. The person present the place could not decide anything and asked to contact "the boss" - Mohhamad. Tried to call him several times and no response. The only communication works is WhatsApp msg and he will respond hopefully next day. Expedia is no help either. Check out is at 11am and is not at noon as it is on Expedia app.

Stared bathrooms were disappointing. Toilet seats not secure to toilet. Kitchen did not have a corkscrew. Did not like having to install WhatsApp on my phone to open doors instead of keys. Could not load whatsapp for two days (whatsapp problem loading) & had to rely on spouse to open doors. Problem if we did not go out together.

Not a hotel but a Hostel

The place is in a good central area. When we checked in we found that the advertised Air Conditioner did not exist, there was no TV in the common area, the floor boards creak so loud that you can hear people walking to their rooms and the doors where warped and took a lot of effort to close. The bathroom lacked a shower curtain, after a shower the bathroom was under water no matter how careful you were. We did not have a view and when we opened the window on a weekend we were treated to all kinds of fumes from the restaurant below. The room we had was extremely small and we had to remove a clothing rack to make room for our suit cases (about 100sqft). The breakfast was very nicely done and we enjoyed it. Mohammed was very helpful in in finding the parking spot that we had asked for.

no admittance, no apology, no refund, NO STARS

3 days before visit I inquired by email how to check in after 7PM. no response. arrived just after 7PM to find door locked, no doorbell, lockbox, or keypad. phoned to ask what next. text response said to go to a particular business, ask for a particular person, get key from them. That business was closed, locked, no response to knock. texted BV to ask what next. response: "Try to knock the door in the meanwhile checking if some guest is there to open you the door." I actually try this, then text back: "There is no answer to repeated loud knocks." After a long wait I text again: "Hello?" After another long wait I give up, locate another lodging, go there with my luggage, check in. Some time later there is a text from BV "Ok it's closed at 21:00 Osvaldo will be there to receive you. Trying to contact Guest to open you the door." I respond "I gave up when you did not respond. Please cancel and full refund." Their response: "Osvaldo is there. no reason to give up." As of 6 weeks later there has been no refund or further email, text, or phone call from them.

Despite my best efforts to understand the checkin procedure in advance of my stay I recd no instructions to access the building. Upon eventually gaining entry, I then find this isn't a 'guest house' at all but a 4th floor apartment accessed via a very dark spiral staircase with a non operational lift - not much fun with luggage after a flight! Upon accessing the room I was then locked in due to a faulty lock, wasting time I should have been spending exploring Lisbon. Was promised the workman would be coming to fit a new one and I didn't need to worry but the solution ended up being the breakfast woman stuffing tissue in the lock to prevent it from locking at all. I then had to make do with just one poor operational lock. Breakfast was just the basics but was okay, though don't bother asking about the possibility of grabbing something a little earlier if you're heading out for the day, even though the breakfast woman arrives at 7 I was informed that grabbing just an apple, cereal and toast would not be possible, I didn't find her very welcoming or friendly at all. Check out states 12 on Expedia but I was informed by the breakfast woman, again in an unfriendly manner, that it's11. The room itself was however mostly okay aside from the lock issue and a lamp not working, it was light, airy and has a large fan. Bathroom, you can't flush the toilet paper so not a particularly pleasant experience in a shared bathroom. The 'guest house' is however in a good walkable location.

Geht nicht, ein Gast muss dem nächsten die Tür öffnen und die Schlüssel und Codes geben. Mails werden nicht beantwortet. Alles nur ein Glücksfall, wenn Du Dein Zimmer und Bett bekommst. Preislich ok, aber alles nur Zufall! Habe sowas noch nicht erlebt! Kaum zu finden, auch mit Google nicht, Tür unten zu, 3 Etage, Tür oben mit Code, der hinter der Tür ist, samt Zimmerschlüssel. Toi,toi, toi!

Wir hatten ein schönes Zimmer mit Aussicht. Das Frühstück war einfach, Küche praktisch! Zimmer sauber, Betten bequem. Einrichtung ist schon ziemlich alt, aber für den Preis in Ordnung. Check-in nur digital möglich mit Codes. Ansonsten Kommunikation über WhatsApp. Die Dame vor Ort spricht kein Englisch. Ein bisschen alles wie in einer WG! Umgebung schön, viele Restaurants und Bars in der Nähe. Außerdem Bus, Tram und Ubahn in Laufweite.

가격대비 대만족입니다. -취사도 가능, 조리도구 완비 -이 가격에 조식이 포함되어 있다는게 너무 좋았어요. 과일, 빵, 음료, 시리얼 등이 충실하게 있어요. 둘째날은 매니저분이 오트밀 쿠키 구워 주셨는데, 너무 감동! 방은 싱글 침대 2개 들어가고 끝이지만, 거실 공간이 있어서 답답하지 않았습니다.

Fin de semana en pareja.

Es un hotel pensión sencillo, con habitaciones con los básicos, importante cogerte la habitación con baño. Bueno: ideal pareja, para llegar descansar,du ha y a otra cosa, es céntrico fácil de llegar desde el metro y autobuses. La zona de ocio nocturna está muy cerca. Malo: el suelo de la ducha falta una limpieza de juntas y al tener baño compartido demasiado ruido al abrir y cerrar puertas.
