"From the very beginning, the Balsam Mountain Inn sang to me. I'd never been here before. I wanted a bed and breakfast near the Blue Ridge Parkway; and, yes, something affordable. The Inn is a HALF MILE from the Parkway, and the price was right for our mid-week getaway. Such an interesting, historic place. Between Waynesville & Sylva. So relaxing!"

"Things that were spot on: The use of the pool; convenient parking; gardens and meditative space; 24/7 hot water for tea and AM coffee for coffee drinkers; nearby restaurants; lots of towels and pillows so no need to clean room daily for shorter stay guests; walking trails; entry by the east entrance; wildlife & bird song; the historic cross. "This hotel was in a perfect location to all the sites we wanted to visit. It was very clean with ample parking, and it had all the essential amenities to make our stay a comfortable one. The mattress on the bed was a perfect firmness--we slept great and had no backaches. The shower had plenty of hot water and strong water pressure.
