"Cheap but not comf"

"My friends checked in to a dirty room and staff only brought them sheets and towels (they had to change the bed themselves). The casino smelled like sewage the entire time. Housekeeping doesn’t come during the weekends. They only provide shampoo and one small soap, no conditioner or lotion. No mini fridge or microwave (probably to get people to buy more food because leftovers/perishables are out of the question). Barely any staff available to check in, mostly kiosks and lines can take hours for events. "

"The rooms were amazing, shopping top tier, swimming area was great, the staff at the gambling area were rude as hell to us one day because their machine stopped working while we were playing- I swear it’s because we were dressed comfy in comfrt sweatsuits and didn’t look like we had money. Which was wildly annoying. Other than that the stay was great. "

"All in all, at bargain pricing, the Main Street Station is a remarkably good value, especially when so much of Vegas is crazily overpriced. Entering the hotel means going through the casino, smelling of decades of cigarette smoking. They do have good ventilation but still, that odor lingers. The room was in surprisingly good shape. Very clean, in good repair, no odor, and quiet. Renovated with a modern bathroom, good bed, useful desk, big flat screen TV with about three dozen channels from satellite service. The in-the-wall ventilator worked so well that I could use it set to fan-only without cooling. You’ll find a mini-fridge tucked into cabinet, but no microwave. The only point of criticism is that the soft chair had seen better days. The brew-pub is good, with good food and good beer. The place has a dozen big screens for sports, and too much noise. Tip: Try the French Dip loaded with good meat. This building is a sister property with much larger “The Cal” across the street, connected by sky bridge. You can access the small but clean rooftop pool there (ask for key card when you check-in). The Cal has more shops, and more casino space. Location is very convenient, easily walkable to the Fremont Experience, and to the bus stops to go to airport and the Strip. The Mob Museum is just a couple blocks away, and was surprisingly interesting. I would choose this place again."
