I believe we have been robbed while staying in this hotel, and the hotel management is covering it up.
After the checkout from the hotel I found that part of the money saved for the next leg of the trip was missing. I sent an email to the hotel asking to investigate. The hotel manager Ali Nabil responded with a screenshot from the access key system. One of the entries was made at 9:37 pm when we were in a completely different place, there was a missing entry around 11pm when we actually came back to the hotel. I have responded to Ali saying that we only came back to the hotel at around 11pm, to which he responded with screenshots from the CCTV system indicating arrival time of 9:42. The reason I believe that this has been tampered with is that all of our iPhone photos have timestamps showing that we have been in a different hotel at this time. Google maps timeline also clearly shows this. Absolutely shocking, disgusting behaviour on behalf of Sofitel staff.
When I submitted a complaint to Accor via their website, the response was to forward it back to the hotel.
Anyway, I would just like to let everyone know that this happened, which is completely unacceptable for an international chain. I would not recommend staying at this hotel. Additionally, the breakfast and food overall was subpar, and the only thing good about the hotel was the garden, which was very well maintained and nothing like we have seen in Egypt.
