"Lovely setting, great welcome, food superb, staff friendly and helpful We had the suite (kingfisher) which was an excellent room except for a radiator being stuck on in the bathroom. The lady in charge (lovely lass) managed to get it sorted as the outside temp was up in the 30’s!!! If I have any criticism of the room, a little use of bleach would have gone a long way but please don’t let that put you off. The place is very very good. "Firstly I booked through expedia who I thought would be competitive, however I paid £70 more than apparently booking direct as got an invoice pushed through my door on the morning of checkout - they said the I paid £70 more because I booked through expedia and that was their commission. The hotel was perfect location, but very dated and old fashioned. The bar was expensive and the spa area was massively overpriced for what it was"

"House keeping was good. Room was small and pretty tired. Bath hand basin sink plug broken and toilet seat would not stay up. Staff polite but not very customer focused. Just did their job! Breakfast was disappointing. Advertised as ‘continental’ but fell short of what we were expecting. Parking good. Plenty of space"

"The room was cosy, nicely decorated, a good size, and with a large and comfortable bed; it would have cost two or three times as much in a hotel - and that's without the generous and tasty cooked breakfast (there are other options on the menu) which - like the excellent WiFi - is included. The shower was a good size, but (and this is my only reservation, which I'm sure will be addressed) had poor water pressure. Parking space is for 2, maybe 3 cars (depending how the others park!), but free...

"I chose a budget room which was £144 per night. I stayed two nights over the Bank Holiday heatwave . There was a brick wall outside my window and only two of the windows would open a maximum of 3 inches. The bathroom window did not open and the fan was not working. It was wretched in the heat. You have to have the light on to see even in daylight. I was given a very basic fan . I asked to change my room the next day. It was inhumane to expect anyone to be in a room with no ventilation in that...
