"Outstanding view of the ocean!"

"Great location a few minutes walk to the beach. Apparently, rooms on third floor can see the ocean, but you'll need to carry your bags upstairs. That was a bit of a surprise! It's an old house, built in 1910, so you can hear (and feel the effects of) your neighbour's plumbing as well footsteps above you. You might forget about these minor complaints after experiencing the gourmet and bountiful breakfast, the homemade baked goods and the lovely wine and cheese hour."

"My weeklong stay at the Viceroy was terrific, mainly thanks to the friendly attentive staff. At the front desk, Ben and a woman whose name may have been Edith (I should have written it down!) were particularly determined to make sure I had a simple relaxing time. Several of the valets were also unusually warm and helpful as well. For me, the only weak spot in the service was a fellow named Chris, who, when I said I couldn't get through to room service, seemed impatient, then sent room service...

"Excellent location right on Venice Beach. But there is a rooftop bar on the property. We stayed on the sixth floor and the music from the bar was so loud it literally shook the room from 5pm until closing. Maybe it won’t be as noticeable on a lower floor but the top floor was unbearable."
