Very pretty lake house. Beautiful view of lake. Nice deck. Comfortable common area with kitchen and fridge. Excellent location. We’re lucky to see northern light from deck.

Not your ordinary bed-and-breakfast, this place was exceptional! It is true that they stopped serving breakfast quite some time ago, but the kitchen is fully equipped for anything that you may want to make, so make sure that you bring the bacon and eggs along. The dining and kitchen areas are shared with one other guest room, so if you are looking for a private getaway, this may not be a good fit for you, but I enjoyed the beautiful living space and my interactions with the hosts, which reside on a separate portion of the home. The bedroom had an amazing view of the lake, as did the shared dining and kitchen area, and I had plenty of privacy and space in my bedroom and bathroom area. There are lots of pictures on the wall, and it was interesting to learn the story behind these photos, as they are of family of the hosts. The intention of this lodging is to make guests feel at home in a family environment, and I absolutely did! There was plenty of silverware, utensils, dishes, spices, etc. and all I needed to do was bring the food that I wanted to cook. My day had all of the amenities that I needed, and I had plenty of privacy for when I wanted it, and the opportunity to socialize when I wanted to do that. The price and location were amazing for this trip!

Perfect place for a family getaway

This place was marvelous. We stayed in the Miners Castle Suite and it was perfect for what we wanted. We love the two separate living room areas with the outdoor patio. A home away from home feel. The host is very easy to communicate with and was helpful and friendly.

The property was clean and comfortable. The breakfast part of the bed and breakfast did not exist, which we found out when we arrived. We were able to use the kitchen once we went to the grocery and bought the staples we needed for breakfast. Despite that flaw, which should have been made clear when we booked it, we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

The hostess was very kind and welcoming and I enjoyed talking with her very much!! The views from the living room are incredible and the bedroom is very comfortable. It was a nice getaway very close to Pictured Rocks, Lake Superio, and Munising. I will likely go there again!

The property is beautiful and the view from the Livingroom/dining room is stunning. Wade's MIL is the sweeties woman and gave us many suggestions of places to visit and eat while we were there. The home has all you would want. We will definitely be back!

This place is for sure a hidden gem! Our family of 5 had so much room and we were impressed by all of the amenities. We will for sure be back again! The view is unbelievable! If there is one ask…I would say the internet service is super weak and it made it difficult to work…so higher speed would be great!

Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted with a tour of the property and helpful recommendations on restaurants and things to do. The property was clean and well maintained with a wonderful view of Lake Superior from the backyard. It was conveniently located near Munising Falls and the Sand Point Beach on the Pictured Rock National Park lakeshore. The bathrooms were clean and updated and the kitchen was fully functional. The property has two units, one of which we rented, in the basement of a home. The unit was spacious enough for 6 people (3 queen beds) to sleep with an additional two sofas if needed. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again.

The view....WOW!

Lovely property with gorgeous views of Lake Superior. My husband and I stayed in the Chapel Rock room. It was very comfortable with a large bathroom and great view of the lake from the bed. This bedroom and the Grand Portal bedroom share the kitchen, dining room and living room so if you feel uncomfortable staying in a house with people you don't know, make sure you book both rooms. We were lucky that no one else booked the other room so we had all the space all to ourselves. Our favorite part was sitting in front of the window in the living room just watching the sunset. The whole place was clean and very cozy. The lady whom lives on the property, was such a joy to talk to. She was very informative about the area with lots of suggestions of restaurants and places to visit. She made us feel at home. It is just a short drive to downtown Munising and the Pictured Rocks. We will definitely stay here again when we visit the area.

Decent stay

Decent place to stay if visiting the Pictured Rocks area. The room was quite comfortable, and view from the living room window was beautiful. You will share the kitchen and living area with another set of guests, so if you are looking for a private stay, this may not be your choice. It is also not a bed and breakfast -- When Wade greeted us and showed us around, he indicated that he'd be giving us $40 to reimburse us for breakfast since they wouldn't be serving breakfast, but he did not have any cash on him at that time. We never did get that money. The place is a bit worn -- many of the windows are broken and won't open. The main issue while we were there was a very big ant problem. Ants where everywhere in our room and throughout the home. I was able to find some vinegar in a cupboard and that seemed to help a bit. They knew there was an issue because there was a little bottle of ant killer on the kitchen counter. The other issue right now - and this is of no fault of the owners - is that there is construction on a local road requiring a detour. If you are looking to stay close to the main area of Munising, getting there quickly right now is not possible.

We were given a very large living area with a big window ro see beautiful fall colors and sunsets. Breakfast is not being served, but the amenities more than make up for that.

Very disappointed!

I rarely leave reviews but i feel like this one needed it. The place was very clean but it is a mother in law suite with two bedrooms and you essentially rent 1 bedroom and someone else rents the other. The mother in law doesn't live there but she is the one that checks you in, she does tell you she loves to be in the apartment when it's not rented. It's very personalized with family pictures and the dining table is set with formal place settings, making it uncomfortable and not able to use the table. You have no control over the heat and it was kept very warm day and night making sleeping uncomfortable. They don't serve breakfast, (one reason we stay at bed and breakfasts), she gives restaurant recommendations of places to go for breakfast. We had the upstairs bedroom and would hear the family early in the morning doing laundry and doors closing. Because it was warm we had to open the windows and when the other couple left or came back they walked past our window, waking us up at night. We left a day early and when I informed the owners we were leaving early they simply said ok. Didn't ask why, or if there was anything they could do. It was like they had their money and that's what mattered. We would not return to this bed and breakfast.

The view....WOW!
