"Beautiful historic mansion. We walked thru nearby parks to the riverfront for lunch. The outdoor restaurant at Orange Grove was very pleasant for an evening dinner and happy hour. The admiral lounge is very comfortable while waiting for pickup to go to the airport or cruise ships."

"Rooms were spacious, modern and clean. We didn’t use the spa due to only staying one night and the extra charge as booked through Expedia but if book direct, it’s included. Breakfast was £16.95 and worth it. Great choice. Lovely outdoor seating area. Beds comfy. Bathrooms good. Quiet location. All was good."

"When visiting Portsmouth this properties location in between the Historic Dockyards and Gunwharf Quays meant that for our three day stay we could easily walk to all of the major attraction. The fact it has its own car park was also a plus although you could easily travel there by public transport due its close proximity to the bus and rail stations. "This Hilton Hotel is superb! The reception desk people were so helpful. The room was beautiful with a balcony overlooking the cricket ground, which is why we booked to stay there. Beefy's restaurant on the upper ground floor of the hotel was exceptional both for dinner and breakfast. One thing we would have appreciated in our room was a small refrigerator to keep wine, water and milk cold"

"First of all, the room was silent, which is a huge positive. Really quiet and peaceful. The ‘king size’ bed is an insult to customers intelligence. Pushing two single beds together and calling it a king size should be criminalised. Properties like this are charging premium prices for facilities, and then providing some hashed excuse which barely ticks the boxes. The internet access is generous and works well. "The hotel is being rescued so it’s very basic. Bar and restaurant closed. Bit 1970s. Good luck to the new owners. They use minimum staff and cannot yet exploit the real potential. Eg hairdryer broke down immediately and no-one on desk. You get what you pay for which is fair, but minimal. It’s really look after yourself AB&B. Would I stay again. Yes if budget was the big issue. No if we wanted atmosphere and attention."

"First time here, fantastic gem in a very quaint spot. We really loved our room, felt like we were back in time, was so unique - for anyone cruising out of Southampton cruise terminal would highly recommend a night here!!!! We loved it."
