Went for a weekend to Merida. Staff was very friendly and accommodating! The room was just ok but at par with the price we paid. Hotel could use some updates but was clean. Not a good option if you intend to spend a lot of time at the pool as it is in the entrance of the hotel and not much space around it (only one lounge chair).

Staff is amazing. Room is nice. Hotel is super cute and the parking made it feel that much more special. Would definitely come back here my next visit to Mérida!

Good budget hotel. The breakfast comes with yogurt with fruit, toast, orange juice, and coffee. The staff are very nice.

Exactly what I need it for the transition
casa Palomino is centrally located in the heart of Downtown Merida. Highly recommend the place, location and easy access to Paseo Montejo, ( only a block away). The place holds the basic essentials of a hotel stay, room is clean, bed is comfortable enough for couple of days stay.

Would not honor reservation (2 double beds) gave us 1 king and said the 2 doubles cost more and was impossible at the price we paid. Should not be advertised if they will not honor it. We had a confirmed reservation. WiFi signal was good, bed was comfortable, stairs n window sills (especially in the bath) were dirty.

Nice n friendly small hotel
The rooms are pretty basic but clean, the reception desk staff are excellent n very helpful, with 2 of 3 speaking English. The location is not central but within walking distance or a $1.50 taxi/Uber ride, from Centro. Too bad all tours, museums, bars, beaches, musical palace were closed down the 3rd day I got there due to the virus. The pool is very small n cold, very little direct sunshine.

Good location
Well located, has parking and free continental breakfast. Don't expect much of the room, but overall worth the price. Staff extremely kind and helpful.

The property has a unique charm to it. The staff is great. It’s close to Paseo Montejo so you can walk for food, entertainment, and business. The one con is the breakfast hours. It’s 8 to 10 now but maybe extend it from 6 to 10 for those patrons who have an early morning. Overall though I would gladly stay here again.

We spent 2 nights at this hotel. The staff was very nice and friendly. We were looking for a hotel with parking. The room was a bit small and wished it had a view to outside. Our only window was facing the parking garage therefore was a bit dark. On average we drove 5-10 blocks to get to main attractions. Continental breakfast was included with our reservation. Food was pretty good and fresh.

Other options in same price rage are superior.
If I were traveling and wanted a place to park my car in a garage in front of my room it would be the place to stay. I felt like I was in a cave. Strange. The AC was loud. The TV was fine and there are English channels. It was very clean but the room was tiny. No way to shower without getting the entire bathroom including toilet wet. WiFi was terrible.

Great location
We loved the location. Close to Centro , a 10 minute walk and close to PAseo de Montejo, two blocks. The hotel is good value for the money. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Decent price - poor room location
The place was well-maintained and professional. But the room is one of three that are accessed from inside the garage (which they try to turn into a courtyard, but it's still a garage). So the room's only window looks into the dusty car park (and is adjacent to the loud a/c boxes). Also, the shower curtain is short and there is no lower lip on the shower so the water goes everywhere and unless you put a towel, will leak into the room. Pool is (really) tiny but cute. Breakfast basic.

Conveniently located boutique hotel
The hotel is situated close enough to the downtown area that you can walk or take a quick taxi. Just a few streets over from Paseo Montejo, so plenty of options for food/drinks/entertainment, yet just far enough that it is pretty quiet. If you have a car, this is a great hotel - as they have a small indoor parking lot attached that is locked up at all times (very easy to come and go, as front desk attendant will gladly open and close door at any time of day). There is a nice little pool and open air courtyard with a few lounge chairs. I didn't get a chance to use this area, but it was nice to walk past daily. The breakfast is fairly minimal, but if you just need to grab a quick bite, you can make a ham and cheese sandwich, have some cereal, pastry, yogurt and fruit. It was enough to get me going in the morning. The shower pressure and water temperature were great; space was a bit cramped as it shared the same space as the toilet. The bed was very soft and comfortable. My only real complaint was that the bottom sheet used for the king size bed didn't fully cover the bed, so the bottom sheet kept un-tucking during my sleep. This drove me crazy, as I don't like to sleep on wrinkled/bunched up sheets. Air conditioning worked really well. I never watched the TV, as I was only really in the room to sleep and shower. The staff were all very nice, and were happy to accommodate my requests. For the price and location, I would definitely stay here again.

Good for solo travelers
The room was very small, smaller than most hotels I have stayed in in Europe. I can't imagine more than one person using the room for more than a day. But it was very clean and suited me well for my solo trip. The room had great air conditioning, a must in hot Merida. Shower had good pressure though it took a while to heat up. Check in was easy, but I wasn't given any information about the hotel wifi or breakfast, so I never got a chance to experience those parts of the hotel. The hotel is a bit far from the historic downtown: About 30 minutes walking with not much to look at. But there are a few restaurants nearby, including a Starbucks, and a very large Wal-Mart.

There were no problems, it was adequate. Nothing great to speak about. The staff were fine but didn't speak much English. The photos online make the room look better than it was in reality. The area was quiet and about a 15-20 min walk to the center. No good restaurants open for dinner in the immediate area.

Clean, new hotel with attentive sfaff
The hotel was new, very clean and in a convenient location just off Paseo Montejo and a 15 minute walk to the plaza. Our room had a comfortable king size bed with quality linens and pillows, and the bathroom was very clean. Although the staff have limited English, they were attentive and quick to help. They carried our luggage up the long flight of stairs to the second floor and intervened immediately when other patrons became loud late in the evening. The buffet breakfast consisted daily of fruit, toast, sliced ham and cheese, yogurt, cereal and coffee, and was fine. The pool was much smaller than I expected and there was not much outdoor space. Overall though, we enjoyed our stay and the staff stand out as being of one of the best assets of the hotel.

Great Stay in Merida
My stay at Casa Palomino was excellent. I was pleased from the moment I arrived. The staff were friendly, respectful and willing to help. The room was clean and affordable. The location was good for the cost. Factors that helped with location were that it was on a bus line to the Center and taxis or Ubers were easily accessible. I would stay here again and would highly recommend it for others.

It is a simple, but safe & secure hotel in Merida, walking distance from the historic downtown area. It has an enclosed parking garage, a safe place for my motorcycle.

Exceptional New Hotel
Excellent bilingual staff. Accurate description of room: new, clean, an exceptional value. Location is optimal: centrally located to accommodate any traveler. Hotel is a few blocks from historical district, near central plaza, and business areas. Travelers can walk to most areas, catch a bus or taxi just outside of hotel to major shopping malls, and a private parking garage is also available for rental cars. We have stayed at many hotels in Merida: Holiday Inn, La Presidenta, Governado four and five star hotels. Casa Palomino is equal to the service received with a greater value. Highly recommend for every type of traveler.
