The infrastructure definitely has room for improvement, especially the road from the airport – "rough" doesn't even begin to describe it! Works are in progress, though, so hopefully it will get better.

Having family in mombasa ,i have been going for many years .Friendly people all round worth a look .

Mombasa town is congested, frantic and hot. Worth a visit but hire a local guide ( not expensive) to find the best historic and cultural parts. Serena Beach hotel is a welcome oasis to return to!
