The hotel itself is beautiful and a short 15mins walk to the centre, the staff are really very kind and helpful, the breakfast is excellent, and the room was very big and comfortable! "This is a great hotel. Unfortunately the room opposite mine had their tv on so load I could hear it despite being on the opposite side of the corridor, but I can’t blame the hotel for that. They asked them to turn it down but I could still hear it at 4:30am! I would nevertheless stay here again because the hotel itself is great and the staff and service is excellent and location is close to everything you want as a tourist."

"We spent three nights at Katari hotel in Arequipa (May 2026). You can't beat the location, right on the central plaza! They serve a very nice breakfast (made to order) on the open-air terrace overlooking the Plaza de Armas. It was so peaceful and lovely. We also had drinks at sunset from the same terrace. Loved it! The rooms are clean and spacious, the beds are comfortable and the shower had good pressure and hot water (although there was one day when it was not as hot). From the hotel...

"El personal del hotel es muy amable! La ubicación del hotel es tranquila e limpia. Está cerca de la plaza de armas y tiene un minisuper Tambo a 2 min caminando. El baño es pequeño y a veces no sale agua caliente. Pero en general todo estuvo bien."

"The Hotel is centrally located and very nice. What makes it excellent are the staff . They are amazing and friendly . They even made us a take away breakfast bag because our flight was early on leaving. We have not had this kind of dedicated service in the USA for years . We forgot what it was like to have worker that appreciate their jobs and their customers "
