A real find in a stunning location.

An absolute find in this beautiful part of the Karoo. The atmosphere and style is that of a traditional Game Lodge. The food is excellent with a team to match. There are several designated walks within the estate for all levels of ability. The one thing we noticed is how immaculately clean the whole place was, with the pool being the cleanest we've experienced throughout our travels in SA. The only downside is that there is no A/C in the bedrooms (there's a ceiling fan), which can make it a little hot during the night. I guess one could open the windows and allow the air in, but the mosquitos tend to come along too.

A lovely stay in a beautiful estate! Very comfortable accommodation, beautiful surroundings, and excellent food, served with a smile :-) Small gestures, like the self-made Limoncello, were much appreciated.

Great transformation of historic buildings with a well earned 5* rating. The service provided by the well trained staff is exemplary. The restaurant food is of a very high standard. The dining area is located to the rear of the property looking over a part of nature the Hotel Management are diligently caring for. A stay at this property is highly recommended. Excellent experience - fabulous food, excellent hospitality and service with amazing staff, wonderful views and experiences with bikes, great pool etc!!! Would highly recommend! Great decor and fit out of the rooms! At one point we had the whole place to ourselves

Set in a beautiful quiet location just outside Montagu, this olive estate is the perfect place to stay if you want peace and relaxation. Our room had a fantastic view over the countryside. The staff were helpful and food excellent. Wished we’d stayed one more night

Sehr schön gelegenes Hotel in wundervoller Landschaft. Sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, Service erstklassig, Zimmer sauber, hell, freundlich und sehr liebevoll dekoriert. Mit kleiner Terrasse und Blick in den wundervollen Garten. Frühstück excellent. Die Stadt Montagu selbst bietet jedoch sehr wenig und ist unserer Ansicht nach keine Reise wert.

Amazing food, relaxed environment in the mountains

We were recommended Galenia and really glad we made the detour to go. Set on a huge estate (that was hit by fires in Feb but already been rebuilt) that’s just outside of Montague in the mountains. Really chilled vibe, they do daily tours of the olive farm, they have the cutest donkey Caesar and some ostriches, you can borrow a bike or chill by the pool. Staff were lovely and what really surprised us was the quality of the food. One of the best dinners we have had to date on our trip and we have been lucky enough to go to some really high end restaurants. Four courses including the nicest lamb I think I’ve ever eaten. Minor downside was we had bad weather when we were there and even though they taught us how to make a fire in our room we still got a little cold in the night. I would definitely recommend though
