We enjoyed our stay at Rancho de Lelo. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable, and friendly. They booked activities for us in Monteverde and recommended a great restaurant. The breakfast was quick and fresh. It was a pretty property though we didn’t get to explore much as we spent most of our time up in Monteverde.

Nice spot. Great view. One of the cheaper places to stay in Monteverde. Free breakfast is a bonus and they have a pool you can use anytime. The host was friendly and helpful. You do get a few small insects in the room but not many. It is a bit in out of the way so you want a vehicle if you're staying there.

This was a delightful place! We loved the landscaping, the quiet location, and the beautiful views from our deck. The host/family owner was friendly and helpful in giving information and booking tours.

The room was larger and nicer than the pictures; it is about 20’x20’. The setting is very picturesque, tranquil, and I loved it. The problem is the road to get here which is very bad, mostly no pavement for about 5 miles. This dirt road has ups, downs, and curves with potholes. It took me 20 minutes to drive a 5 miles road. You need a high clearance car for this road. If it rains, you might need a 4 wheel drive. Besides the road to get there, everything is great. Wonderful hosts and setting.

Where to start!! If I could leave 7 stars I would! The hosts are the kindest, most helpful devoted hosts you could hope for! Not only did they greet me with amazing tips to get around, their family history is just amazing! It felt like it was a privilege to be staying on their land! Will definitely go back, Natalia and Beatrix, and all your lovely family and dogs, thank you for a warm welcome in your paradise!

Very good place for the price. But to reach the location is not tough, dimmest travel during day time to reach location without any issue. Food, staff and area is very good and family friendly.

Our cabin sits in the mountains and is surrounded by beautiful gardens with lots of flowers, tropical vegetation, and coffee trees. The room is spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. We were welcomed by Natalia and Beatriz with a delicious food basket. The breakfasts were healthy and very yummy. Beatriz introduced us to the attractions and even a local soccer game. Since my boys are huge soccer fans, we made the effort to drive back to watch the game, which was one of the highlights of our entire trip! Highly recommended!

Everything about this place is superb. The family are so friendly and helpful, the Rancho is relaxing, the food was great and the room perfect. You have to make this part of your stay in Monteverde

Rancho de Lelo is a wonderful place to stay if you’re looking for peace and nature. The warm welcome (including a beautiful welcome package) and family atmosphere made our visit especially enjoyable. The room and facilities were spotless and well maintained. The cabin offers everything you need — including a fridge and excellent Wi-Fi. Would highly recommend to anyone travelling to Monteverde!

First I would like to say the customer service and communication was great at Rancho de Lelo. They did a great job suggesting activities around the area. The breakfast was delicious and property was beautiful. My kids loved spending time with the dogs. The view from the room was beautiful and calming. The negative is there was heavy rainfall while we were visiting and as a result the room felt very wet due to poor window and door insulation and condensation. All our items in the room felt damp. There were also bugs in the room that bit us. My kids had a hard time with this and spent most of the night awake and upset.

We love our stay. It was only one night but very memorable with the friendly staffs and the welcoming gift basket. We feel like staying at a family's home. Would definitely plan for a longer stay in the future.

The Rancho de Lelo was AMAZING! When we arrived, Beatriz was so kind to us and very helpful. She helped us planning activities and she recommended restaurants. It was probably the best welcome that we ever experienced at a hotel! The Rancho is located on a great property. It's beautiful, peaceful and very quiet! It's a family-owned hotel. They even have their own coffee plantation. The rooms are private "cabanas", so cabin style. The breakfast is delicious. The pool has nice clean natural water (no chlorine). There are very friendly dogs on the property and they were my son's trip highlight in Monteverde! The Rancho is located about 25 min from Santa Elena, the nearest town. The views from the town to the Rancho are absolutely stunning!

2 jours en nature, tellement beau!

Cest un tres beau site,dans la nature et beaucoup d'oiseaux . Route pour sy rendre est ardue, on se demande si cest le bon chemin haha. La piscine est froide puisu'ils utilisent de l'eau des montagnes pour la re remplir a tous les jours. Quelques insectes a l'intérieur des chambres mais pas de moustiques. Personnel tellement accueillants et gentil. Déjeuner bon.

The owners were polite and kind. But it is a drive up into the mountains on a very bumpy gravel road, so make sure you have a good SUV not a car. Our room was not one of the photos that you see on Expedia so it truly wasn’t what we expected. It was clean and we did have what we needed (shower and bed), but we would not go back. The property is beautiful and with the walk up the gravel road allow us to see many birds which was pleasant and joyful. Also, if you are not a dog person, this property is not for you. You are constantly greeted and escorted by their dogs.
