"Very clean property and rooms. Nice continental breakfast. Hotel is older and rooms are smaller but has had upgrades done to the rooms. Such as new furniture and paint, very nicely decorated. Great water pressure, which is amazing after a day of traveling. We did have an issue with our air conditioner not working but it was a cooler night so we didn't need it that badly. Did not report it until we checked out. Still a great experience overall!"
"The coffee machines at breakfast were a bottle neck and the breakfast was cold the first day. The rooms were clean and nice. They were quiet and comfortable except for the bedspread which seemed to get tangled up easily because it was so thin. It was close to our destination of Mesa Verde so we would stay again."
"The Strater Hotel was such a magical stay! It was amazing to see all of the artifacts inside the lobby area! It was like a museum and a time capsule. We reserved the Jacuzzi and it was so clean and well maintained. It was so cozy and nice to have the whole room to ourselves for 30 minutes. Each room had its own unique attributes and I want to book the Strater over and over again so I can experience ALL they have to offer. We spent an evening at the spiritorium and were met with an independent artist playing his guitar and taking requests. It was such a great time!"
"Such a fun place to stay! The retro-themed decor was fanastic and really clever, loved how each room celebrated a different star from the old days. We ate at the Main Street Brewery on Main Street--food was great and also a fun place."
"Nice little motel in a perfect location for enjoying downtown Durango and watching or catching the train. We love walking to the great bookshop Maria's (on Main Street) and Steamworks Brewery when we stay. Movie theater is basically right next to motel if you have a rainy day. Close to lots of restaurants and fun shops, too."
"Very smoke smelling in the lobby. Designated Smoking lounge smoke seeped into the lobby. You could also smell smoke in the elevator and a good portion of the hallway on our floor. However, our room did not have a smoky smell.
Hotel at night was pretty quiet too.
The Ute Mt website was not accurate in describing restaurant offerings
Daily Buffets were listed....Primecrib buffet on Saturday, BBQ on Sunday.
No Buffets we available except salad and soup bar.
Looking forward to a buffet with lots of choices."
