"The cottage is in a great location to access all parts of the island. Decor and furnishing are on the basic side, but this is more than reflected in the price. The garden has lovely views - a picnic table is provided but I suggest taking your own camping chairs for more comfy, longer term seating. "The property is a period house and the owner Chris has kept it to that style, very clean with a excellent breakfast cooked to perfection by Chris with a wide and varied choice of food. Whitwell is a designated dark sky area with some very pretty houses lots of thatched roofs,the local pub is only a few minutes walk and well worth a visit,the food is excellent. I would definitely recommend a stay at Kingsmede ,it fulfilled all my wife and I hopes"

"On the whole defo 5*! Great location and views. Very friendly staff. Has Indoor swimming pool and we had Breakfast included. Has a bar / lounge area and a welcome feel. Will mention rooms and hotel are a bit dated and onsite parking but limited. But I don’t think they pretend to be a modern hotel. "
