"Nice, big clean room and en suite. Staff downstairs in the pub were friendly, helpful and efficient. Warm welcome as non members at the Tuesday night jazz club - great band on our night. However, globe not screwed in properly in bedside light. Fridge door panel fell off. Fixed both these problems. Couldn't fix the lack of spoons so didn't tackle the complementary cereal. Its a fun place - we will stay again."

Alex Hotel had been recommended by friends, and this was indeed a good location, clean with helpful and very friendly staff. "The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel decor was nice. The room was in need of some maintenance and there was a noticeable lack of soundproofing. I could hear water running through the pipes and thumping from people walking around. Overall the stay was good but not great, as you’d expect from a 5 star hotel."

Friendly professional staff beautiful hotel lobby would be nice if they could engage a pianist though to play the grand piano they have there even if only weekend evenings . Wonderful pool area too and Fantastic IGA just down the steps from The hotel stocks everything including ready cooked meals at the hot counter good choice of salad bar too . Also there is an Italian restaurant and pizzeria and a zamberos in same area ."

"Reception only opens from 9 am to 5 pm. No flexibility to work around that as staff was asking us to send picture of the credit card even the bond had already been taken. Not recommended for visitor who has work commitment and therefore can’t go to the reception to register within 9 am to 5 pm. Further the room was not cleaned even once during my 9 nights staying there."
