"Staff, room and cafe great"

"This is a lovely, unpretentious motel located in Murphy. Easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The room was quiet, comfortable and clean. It is about a 10-12 minute drive to the John C Campbell Folk School and easy driving to various trails and scenic spots."

"We had to wait literally 10-15 minutes before anyone came to the front desk. We called the "800" number to ring the front desk while standing there and still no one. Finally, a young man emerged from somewhere down the hall. While we were checking in "later," it was only 8:30-9:00pm. Weird! Then, we got to our room and as soon as we turned on the lamp....the power to the entire room went out. Weird again! We moved rooms...no issues changing, but this room had a bad odor (like urine). It was...

"Signage needs fixing. Drove by hotel and spent 15 mins in circles in a housing area near hotel driveway. Big sign was out of view up in the air 50 ft or more. Good for highway visability, bad at eye level trying to find hotel which was located out of sight after turning onto Sky road. Bad experience."

"The cabin was clean and very comfortable, and the staff was kind and patient (being tired after a long day on the road and a little absent minded I immediately locked my key in the room lol). The only glitch was that the hot tub was inoperative at first, but they sent someone down right away to fix it. We were looking forward to jumping in after our long day on the road, and so we had to wait quite a while for it to heat up enough to use, but at least we did get to use it and it was lovely. ...

"Room was clean and the hotel is in a good location near downtown. There are plenty of restaurants and gas stations nearby. Its a older hotel with rooms entered from the outside. Great for a one night stay."

"We just need a place to stay for the night while exploring Blue Ridge area, nothing fancy. It is an old lodge that has been renovated…. Just need a microwave in the room."
