"Property has very spacious rooms and well maintained. Lovely Beach location although waves rough at this time. Food overall quality, very tasty and well presented. Staff very personable ,attentive and seeking to offer service especially Assistant Manager Siri, Dilen and Nilanga."

"I booked for 1 day and stayed for over two week. Great value comes with breakfast and the room and bathroom beautiful and clean. The room i stsyrd in was a beautiful surprise. The room is on the second floor in family home. Felt safe and comfortable. "

"wonderful staff. We had a very beautiful sea side room on the top floor. The pool is a bit small but the location to the sea makes up for the small pool. "

"This was our 2nd stay at the Asian Jewel. Our return was based on our previous experience which was lovely staff, good food, clean and spacious room. The location is out of town but was easy/cheap to get tuk tuks and being situated next to the lagoon allowed us to see lots of beautiful birds from our balcony. Would recommend and hope to return again."

"The room has good air conditioning and the bathroom, good hot water. It's a rustic cabana type place, perfect for its location in front of a quiet beach. Not your city modern hotel. I love to mention the manager, always there for guests, friendly, helpful and a good cook. The ocean water is very clean, the sand is soft under the feet, very good usable beach for walking, swimming, surfing...As women, we feel safe at this quiet, not crowded beach. Walking distance to small seafood restaurants,...

"Clean, comfortable and calm. Delicious breakfast and superb hosts. "

"Pool was nice and easy to access. Breakfast served at table downstairs. Good choice and hot food option. Room comfortable, but wasn't cleaned for 2 days and had to nag them to finally do it which wasn't impressed by.. One brother is helpful who owns it and the other not so bothered. Overall it's ok despite other rave reviews all over the hotel walls. Good location for beaches and very close to Galle fort and cricket ground and central amenities."

"Great place to stay. Very clean staff were great. Only negative was that wifi was out for our 2 night stay. Great breakfast and pool was very nice. A wee bit out of the way, no shops or restaurants nearby, but very quiet and relaxing."

"The owner/host and housekeeping staff were very friendly and nice to talk to. They can arrange tuk tuk for the guests and home style food was so delicous. Due to its location, guests will need to have insects repellent spray applied at all time. Overall very nice stay at villa birdlake. "

"This is an amazing property run by amazing and friendly staff. The rooms themselves are unusual and special in design, with an outside (but private) bathroom which is unlike anything else. The pool is nice and the area is surrounded by trees where monkeys jump around and entertain you, but we had no issues with them as they are the shy kind! Would definitely recommend and is great for visits to Galle and Dakata beach which is excellent for surfing. "
