Hotel is a bit older, it is starting to show its age scratched furniture, wear spots on carpets, etc. You can tell this was a premier property, just needs to be modernized a bit. I love the architecture inside. Staff were very attentive and welcoming especially to a westerner. I do speak Chinese so the staff really seemed eager to assist me on any of my needs.

The downsides were the wifi was not very good and we had to use cell service instead, and also booked this because the advertise laundry but it is a service and they charge by the piece.

Staff at the front desk (張嚴 and 王璐) was very helpful in answering questions and booking tickets for number of museums. Attendants at at the front door were eager to assist with giving directions. The dining area on the 2nd floor is the best, but the room is very old, and the service is mediocre. I just traveled from Shanghai and stayed in Portman Ritz-Carlton for two days. The service there is so much better than Jinling。
