"Do yourself a favor and stay here the rooms are not incredibly updated, but they are incredibly clean and well-maintained and the overall aesthetic of the place is top shelf, but the glowing star of the entire place are the Jamaican staff that run the place you will not find nicer people that are more accommodating and friendly not to mention the café is a 10 out of 10 highly recommend this place also lots of parking"
"We enjoyed the charm of the inn. Each room had a uniqueness. The staff was very accommodating during all of our interactions. We took stars away because the self service coffee station was not maintained very well. There were shortages of items and at time it wasn’t always clean. Breakfast was not put until 8am which is late if you want to get an early start. Brewed coffee wasn’t available until 8 am either. Earlier than that time, there were only k-cups. The deck is only staffed until 8 pm which means that a night time cup of tea could not be had if all the tea bags were gone. We were on the third floor and the elevator was broken the whole time we were on property. The deck area is a great sanctuary to relax in, however the deck and cushions had leaves and droppings from the trees that had to be swept away prior to sitting down. We didn’t see any attempt by management to maintain this area on a scheduled basis. It might have been short staffing early in the season, but the price point demands more. The room was clean and there were plenty of linens. We enjoyed our stay but expected that there would be more attention to details."
"What an amazing experience from beginning to end. This resort is definitely worth the money. Amazing views. Awesome access to a bay on one side and the ocean on the other. We practically had the beaches to ourselves. And the afternoon port wine and cheese is relaxing and a great social hour to learn more about others and all that the island has to offer.
And the resort staff are all awesome. They are not only knowledgeable, but caring. They literally go out of their way to help you, regardless if they are currently busy. I hope the owners (Karps) read this review and are aware that you can have a great set of programs like they currently do, but it is their current staff and management that takes their resort "over the top." Captain Rob, the tour guide is a historian and navigator of the island. And Sean Burpee, their manager of the Wauwinet, really works with you to get the type of experience(s) you want while you are at their resort. They are nothing short of outstanding and I hope that if they ever receive offers from other programs that the owners will match those offers and increase their salaries to keep these amazing people in place so that the program does not suffer. These people know exactly how to make you have the experience of a lifetime. This place and all the staff are easily an 11/10."
"We stayed in the king room with private bath. This is really an Airbnb type rental with a few bedrooms for rent within a residential home. Nice, spacious and tastefully decorated room. It was clean, with a comfy bed, and relatively quiet, away from town.
Self check in was easy, and we didn't even see the owners or other guests our whole stay.
Our only issue was the parking situation. You have to park a bit of a distance from the house, so be prepared to carry your luggage, coolers, etc a ways and up one or two flights of narrow stairs (depending which room you are in). Parking is at a premium in the neighborhood, so each evening all the parking spots were filled by 6pm (in the off season, mid week, and before Memorial weekend, so I can't imagine what summer is like!) This means you'll have to park at a nearby business overnight, and go move your car before they open around 630am.
There are coffee and snacks in the foyer, but be aware there is a charge for them.
The king room does have an Nespresso machine but no mugs were provided in the room.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would give this 5 stars if the parking wasn't such a problem, and if complimentary coffee was provided. The owners were quick to respond when we contacted them."
