"This was a fabulous hotel in the heart of downtown Calgary. Some shared facilities with the Dorian hotel, like the restaurant on the 27th floor and the gym made the amenities seem even better than a normal Courtyard."

"I’m sad to report that this Fairmont was a real disappointment. The check in process was a huge mess - big waits and I got misinformation about many things regarding our stay. The room itself, which was an “upgraded” room (not exactly sure of the Fairmont’s definition of that ) had a shower, Nespresso coffee maker and TV that did not work properly. We phoned reception as soon as we got into the room and noticed these things, and sadly, the staff seemed very familiar with hearing these...

"Easy check-in. Friendly and helpful staff. Just a short 3 block was to the C-Train which dropped us off at the gates to the stampede grounds (which is why we were there). A very nice roof-top restaurant."

"The positives: Very good location, warm welcome and a strong team at the front desk in service and guest interaction. The attendees in the hotel restaurant were also very friendly and responsive and breakfast was very good. The negative: The pool, the ability to manage such that guest have adequate access because they open the pool to non-paying guests for a fee. The result is the afternoon pool scene with a DJ looks more like what you might expect in Vegas or at a Club Med vacation in the...

"There was a lot of selection at the complementary breakfast each morning. The room was clean. There was a broken drawer handle we noticed upon arrival and despite the front desk assuring us it would be fixed, it stayed broken for our week long stay. There were a lot of homeless encampments around the entire hotel but there were security guards/police patrolling constantly. All things considered, I would stay here again."
