On floor 5 at least hallway was stained elevator got stuck on basement floor the room and sheets was very beat up and torn. Wifi didnt work on that floor. Windows didnt want to stay shut. The staff was friendly tho. And love the outside of the building

Location near museums and Central Park, and convenient public transport to JFK airport are excellent. Hotel staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. Local eateries were fair to good. However, remodeling of the hotel is still on-going. Room sizes are very small but not unexpected given the density of NYC and particularly the Upper West Side. We booked a "King, Executive" room which was worth it to us for our 5 night stay. Not fancy but the location and ease of access more than made up for it.

The property features only one elevator servicing all eleven floors, which appears to be quite outdated. During my stay, it frequently became inoperable—often getting stuck on the 11th floor—forcing guests to use the stairs to access their rooms. Additionally, the lobby lacks air conditioning, creating an uncomfortably warm environment. Overall, I found the property to be misrepresented in its advertising, as the listed amenities and conditions did not accurately reflect the guest experience. I would like a refund.

Okay for the price

Staff was very friendly, and the free breakfast was a plus. Like others mentioned, the rooms are extremely small (but hey, it’s Manhattan). If you’re ok sleeping an a cramped space, it’s clean enough and in a relatively safe neighborhood with close proximity to Central Park and the subway. My only real complaint is that the in room safe did not have a key, so we had to carry our documents on our person for the entire trip.

I strongly recommend NOT staying at this hotel. Room air conditioner was not working, desk/table top was broken and would fall if anything placed upon it, bathroom was not clean, carpet very dirty. The location is the only thing that is nice about this property.
