"Hotel hits all the 5 star spots apart from 2 points. 1 - the rooms are not soundproof at all, and being able to hear the conversations in the room next door so clear that i could repeat what they were saying is not what i would expect. Second - the front desk staff are not as polished and committed to the level of service i would expect from a top end 5 star hotel. Doormen were top class. All in all it's a good hotel, but with so much choice in NY, i have stayed in better."

"Very small rooms as described - works for one or a couple, tougher to 2 friends. Vibe is fun, staff is great, roof deck is fantastic, & subway access is easy."

"We checked in at 2:45 for a 3pm check in and our room was not ready until 4:40 pm. On top of that the elevators in the property do not work and caused us to wait 20-30 minutes every morning. We ended up having to take the stairs multiple times. "

"A great hotel. Comfortable and clean. We were on level 3 on the street side so it was a little noisy but otherwise very good."

"Room was clean. Staff was nice. Wouldn’t recommend paying extra for the balcony rooms the balcony was extremely small. no chairs or anything out there we didn’t even end up using it. Our AC unit was broken it was just blowing out luke warm air on a 90 degree day outside. was brutal. brought it to staffs attention they said they’d take a look at it tomorrow but that was the day we were checking out so that didn’t really help us. Overall besides AC was a nice experience "

"Great room, unfortunately the well known bar at the lobby was closed for a private party. In my opinion hotel bars should not be closed for hotel guests. That’s an amenity guest pay for and sometimes the reason a guest may book a hotel. Like going to a ski resort but the slopes are closed for a private event of a rich guy and guest just watch through a window. Having said that, the hotel is well located and reasonably priced. "

"Simply put it’s just cool…staff is welcoming, comfy rooms, good food and easy access to great coffee/tea. It worked for me on every level. "

"The furniture outside and inside the coffee bar/bar area was filthy. The carpet in the halls was so dirty. The showers had dirt in the corners. Our bathroom door (a sliding situation) wouldn’t shut completely which was irritating. Upon arrival we were told we would receive a daily $25 credit for the bar or cafe and when we tried to do this we were told they weren’t doing room charges."

"We will never stay at this hotel again! We stayed Saturday thru Wednesday and for all five days only two people smiled or greeted us. There was only one person at the front desk that was very nice to us and it was a young man with glasses. The same young lady either chose to ignore me if I was next in line or pretended they didn’t see me and again helped the person behind me. Three different women worked the shuttle desk and acted as if we’re bothering them. The hostess at the hotel...
