Even an Asylum Seeker would not stop here Pros: NONE Cons: 1. no toilet paper in toilet 2.Shelf above towel rail hanging off the wall 3.Electric wires protruding from wall above sink 4. Very noisy from traffic on road outside. 5. Single glazed window that wouldn't shut properly 6. Bed extremely uncomfortable due to mattress being an old sprung type. 7.Only one pillow each provided. 8.One dirty bath towel each. 9.Occupants of room above moving furniture or something about all night on creaky floorboards 10. Black mould present on en-suite skirting boards and shower tray 11. Shower either scalding hot or freezing, no happy medium 12. Corridor outside room unlit, difficult to locate key slot in door 13. Other guests seemingly unaware of how loud they are in the corridors 14. NO FIRE ESCAPE PLAN OR INSTRUCTIONS To sum up this place in one word.................TERRIBLE My advice is to spend a bit more and stay elsewhere, Just wish I had now..................

The hotel was dirty toilet set and shower was broke one had door broke pf on shower lightbbulb did not workblood on the bed big iron mark on the floor the shower room was dirty thebedroom was dirty i complained to staff who told me i had to get in touch with expedia i would not recommended this hotel at all i would like i refund please

Faulty trenches - Shame on you owner/staff.
The entire establishment was unfinished; yet still managed to exude a worn\shabby aesthetic. Incorrectly installed computer desk, broken light switches, the noise of other peoples plumbing taunting me that mine was haphazard at best. Asking for a towel I was advised to use the paper napkins. (Sadly not present either) Later given a towel. When advising that there was no plug/stopper in the sink I was given a plug (type thing) that did not fit the said sink. Pointing out the lack of power on "computer desk" I was given a four gang extension. (No power on that side of room) Both beds in the room (twin) were incredibly soft and did not provide a good sleeping experience. *This* might be Ms Braverman's solution to providing housing in UK
It appears that someone pushed the light switch too hard. The Crack appears to go fully through the plastic.
The computer desk (who knew MFI still did special ordHad ports for where the power sockets *should* go. That's the white thing at the back of the formica wood. Seems someone must have made the assembler a better offer...

First of all, this is a budget hotel with shared bathroom facilities, so please read my critique with that in mind. I did not expect 3* conditions. The room itself was very generously proportioned. The staff were really freindly and were available whenever I called on them. There was ample tea and coffee making facilities and the towel and bedding was clean and soft. However... Some of the furniture was broken; The single glazed window did not shut properly; The bed swayed from side to side alarmingly each time i turned over; The room smelled of mildrew because the trap to the sink was not connected properly so the floor was soaking wet; There was no sound insulation between rooms - I could hear EVERYTHING in the adjoining rooms. Save yourself some money and upgrade to a YHA

I paid over the odds for a single room with shared bathroom (£145). The first room i was put in has part of the window frame missing so the window wouldn’t seal. It had old furniture that seemed to be falling apart. When i complained about the window the receptionists response was “but nobody can get in that”. That wasn’t the point. I asked for money back to which they responded “no, because its the great north run weekend”. They’ve spiked their prices to rip off runners who’d raised thousands for charity. Eventually they moved me to the room next door. Again, the window didnt shut properly but at least there was no hole in it. That room was also outdated with nailed coming out of the wardrobe. The shared bathrooms were grotty, one of the showers didn’t have a door, and the light switch was outside the bathroom in the corridor which anyone could play with as they walked past. I wouldn’t recommend staying here

Would not pay £123 when communal bathroom was dirty particularly the shower and room was very basic (eg one towel between two and one pillow each). Very friendly welcoming staff member. Poor for price.

A smoke alarms came on and went off again seemingly at random and then a member of staff showed up asking to see our room because apparently we'd been smoking. Neither of us had and the window wasn't open so there's something wrong with their ability to detect where alarms are sounded/the smoke alarms themselves (maybe the kettle set it off?). Tad dirty behind the desk but nothing major and the cupboard door didn't close all that well due to it being misaligned. The bathroom supplies of soap weren't well stocked. Other than that, no issues, it was 'aight.

Staff friendly and very helpful. Room is basic but clean. Plenty of shared bath and toilet. The only problem is sound proof. Can hear not only people walking in corridor but others snoring in the next door.

We arrived at the hotel hoping for just some where to rest after going to a concert at the arena, however upon arrival we were met with screaming and shouting from other guests in the reception as they were complaining about their stay. There were people vaping on the corridors. We were shown to our room which was at the top of the stairs and looked like a shop front with aluminium door and glass windows all round, room was filthy lipstick writing on bedside table, smashed cupboards, stunk of wee. We walked straight back out and asked for a refund, which we were told to speak to Expedia so we did who said the hotel weren’t picking up the phone, later to be told we weren’t allowed a refund. Disgusting, gross and unsafe and unfit for purpose.

good value for money, with that been said you get what you pay for. My room was literally next to the main road so you can hear the car moving up and down all the time and window sound proof is bad.. Other than that all good

I booked this hotel and didnt know what to expect based on the reviews. It was just my daughter and I staying for the Beyonce concert. Staff were very helpful. Didnt realise i had booked a room with a shared bathroom/shower room but to be honest we got back to our room after the concert at 12.35am and left at 7am so wasnt really an issue. Our room was very basic but bedding was clean. The hotel is very creaky and could hear other guests arriving home but didnt last too long. Hotel is in a good location and a short work into Newcastle centre.

needs better cleaner and modernisation
Poor showers / bathrooms, place smelt like mould, Rooms too hot, breakfast was cold and of very poor quality. Various substances all over the walls and curtains. felt like a bit of a biohazard. On the upside, cheap, accessible and friendly staff. reasonably comfortable clean bed, and not too close to a main road so wasn't too load. Would suggest hiring a more competent cleaner, bring the showers and bathrooms up to modern standards, and hire a decent chef, and this place could be decent.
