The hotel Petit Palais is located in a quiet neighborhood on a hill above Nice. Very nice hotel and excellent staff who were all very helpful. Its a hike up the hill but not too bad, did take a taxi on one trip which was expensive at 12 euros for several minutes travel. We paid for a sea view and would of preferred a higher floor with a better view but suspect again this could be by booking via hotels.com and maybe direct would have been different. We stayed for 3 nights at the Ibis. The breakfast is wonderful and the tea/coffee making facilities available free throughout the day in the main reception. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to a supermarket, the promenade and city centre. The buses are really cheap 1.50 euros to most cities including Cannes and Monaco.
