"The accommodations were spartan but clean we had the "Family Room", the owner very nice and helpful. The bathroom and shower were fine. The double bed was 2 single beds pushed together.It is 15 minute walk to the station and to Byodo-in (main attraction in Uji) There are no food options close by but kitchen access was available. The only real problem is that for anyone who has mobility issues, access to the room was 2 flights of very steep narrow stairs."

"The room worked very well for three of us! It was clean, well outfitted, sufficiently spacious, with comfortable beds/seating, and having in room laundry facilities was great. It’s a short walk to Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, two train stops, and a lot of food/coffee/shop options. This was a great base for exploring Kyoto."

"The house was great and in perfect condition. Great location as it is 3 min from the Inari shrine and close to the train station which is always helpful. Nothing to complain about except 1 thing: there was no pool table as shown on the photos and we were not told about it. "This was our favourite hotel of our trip. The outside is fairly grand, although it is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. There is a couple of convenience stores within a ten-minute walk, but not really any restaurants we could see. There are other grand hotels in the vicinity.
