"Staff were very welcoming and everything was spotless when we arrived. Booking in was easy. Room was very tidy and aired. The breakfast was delicious. The staff catered for everyone considering it was a very busy weekend. The food was fresh and plentiful. The only disappointment was the dinner menu but was adequate. We would use this Holiday Inn again when in the area. My family have used it each time as well. "

"Interior is very tatty and cheaply done. The plug in the bath didn't work all floors were peeling and lifting even in the bathroom and overall everything looked old and grubby. Very pleased we only stayed for one night"

"The room I stayed in was absolutely filthy. Previous guests had clearly been smoking in the room, as the smell of smoke was really strong. We were unable to open the window as it was so high up. The window sill had been used as an ashtray and there were burn marks and ash still visible. The blind couldn't be opened, it was just permanently closed. "We arrived at approximately 9pm, slightly later than advised. Although the front door was locked, the manager (I assume) was still there, cleaning. He let us in when I telephoned and kindly carried our case up to the room. The room itself was clean, fresh, well equipped. However, the room was extremely cold on arrival. "Lovely hotel. Evening meal and breakfast is superb. Bed was comfy. Restaurant was separate from the bar area although you could eat there if you chose. Numerous screens for watching sport. If i was to be critical - a small coffee table and chair would have been good and the shower, hot and plenty of water, flooded a bit quick. "
