Crown Hotel Harrogate
10/10 Excellent
"I had a 2 night stay at the Crown Hotel with my husband and it was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable with everything that we needed. There was a fan set out as the weather was warm and we had tea/coffee making facilities and biscuits. The bed was very comfortable. While we were at breakfast next day housekeeping cleaned the room and we were given more biscuits too. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with a great choice of foods. My husband said the bar was very good, while I was enjoying a relaxing bath. Reception staff were brilliant, helpful and trying to do everything possible to ensure we enjoyed our stay. I will definitely come back."

"Lovely hotel in a perfect position in the Centre of Harrogate. Parking is a problem at the Hotel but use West PArk Car Park - £9 for 24 hours and just a 5 minute walk."

The Skipton Hotel - Formerly Hotel Rendezvous

"Really good storage area for bikes...very handy for those on cycling holid"

Grand Hotel Scarborough
2/10 Terrible
"Firstly I would like to say the room was as described and there I have no complaints and feel it fair to say this. On arrival all was fine then I went out for a while to come back and find the lift out of order so I asked staff how to access my room and I was directed to a door that my keycard wouldn't open so the lady opened the door and directed me through the door after searching for 10 mins I found my room beating in mind I have my partner with me who has an injured foot. After getting changed we then ventured back out for food and on our return the lift was still broken to the lower floors so we used the stairs to exit. On our return we asked if we could be let through the door again to which we were told we shouldn't go through there as these are service corridors and not accessable to guests and the said member of staff should not have let us in in the first place, we were then directed to another lift to go up stairs to get down and because of this we made the decision not to stay at the hotel and took the 2hr drive home instead and we were very disappointed with the conclusion to our visit to the grand and will not be visiting again"

DoubleTree by Hilton Harrogate Majestic Hotel & Spa
8/10 Good
"The hotel is ina good location, everything is very walkable, albeit Harrogate is hilly. We stayed in a King Room, which had lovely space, however we were disappointed how blandly decorated the room was. The hotel as a whole was lovely, the spa area was a great addition and was perfect for a couple of hours rest after walking around Harrogate. The bar area and patio were also pretty and a great space to reset."

Royal Whitby
8/10 Good
"The check in and car parking was good, the charge for parking was reasonable too. We had 2 rooms, 1 was luxurious and I'm sure was an upgrade. The other room was basic and not so good. It was dusty and had cobwebs, the shower wasn't good and the beds were noisy and uncomfortable. The breakfast was good."

The Royal Hotel

"We do love this hotel but this time we had a guest join us in the bar for a drink. He uses a disabled scooter; we realised how poor the hotel is for disabled guests - the lift was broken from outside so we had to fiddle ourselves to fix it. The disabled toilet is upstairs but the lifts said no scooters allowed. This is obviously a real problem for disabled guests. Honestly, lovely hotel, great staff but needs a few tweaks."

The Golden Fleece Hotel, Thirsk, North Yorkshire
6/10 Okay
"The hotel has its own car park, free for guests. At reception it was over quarter of an hour before anyone responded to give a room key to the guest who was waiting before us, and then to check us in. We had to repeat details such as car registration which had already been provided in the online pre-registration. Nonetheless staff were very friendly. There are no lifts and only 2 ground floor rooms so this hotel is probably not for people with mobility issues. The bathroom was larger than most and was clean. The bedroom was extremely compact for a double room, with barely space to squeeze past the end of the bed. This was a one-night stay so we did not use other hotel facilities. The hotel is very conveniently located on the picturesque Market Square with its restaurants and several pubs for dinner and cafes for breakfast. (In the morning we noticed a line of mobility scooters outside the bakery next door so that seems to be the go-to breakfast spot.) There is also the main bus stop, with buses to surrounding villages and York, as well as a taxi stand."
