The hotel itself is lovely, with helpful and friendly staff, lovely rooms (exactly as described on their website), nice relaxing bar. the perfect place for a weekend getaway. We were there for two nights and decided to eat in the restaurant on our second evening. The food was delicious. My wife and I shared the Chateaubriand and it was cooked perfectly. The breakfast the next morning was also fantastic, with a great choice. The Kipper Hash was a particular favourite of mine. We will definitely go back as there are lots of lovely places to explore in the local area"

"My wife and I stayed for one night whilst walking the wall, for which this is in an ideal location. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful with Lettie in particular standing out by helping with specific dietary requirements. The hotel is situated in a lovely spot by the bridge over the River North Tyne. We had a tasty and good sized breakfast the following morning to set us underway for the day's hike. The photo was the view from our room."
