"Middlethorpe Hall and Spa is a fabulous hotel, one of three owned by the National Trust in the UK. It is set in beautiful grounds and garden. Staff are very welcoming and friendly, the room was spacious and well furnished and the bed was large and comfortable. We had breakfast included in our stay and they catered for most people. Getting into York without using the car was a bonus as the 11 bus has a stop right outside the main driveway entrance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. "

"Stay was great property in a prime location. Property is a nice size and homely, unfortunately the property wasn't overly clean and could do with a little TLC, but it was value for money. We would have been more disappointed if we'd paid more for the stay."

"Efficient and friendly check in. Staff very courteous and helpful. Our room was a little tired and old fashioned but clean and comfortable. Bathroom facilities very good. Breakfast buffet food was not particularly hot. I suspect the food server heater was inadequate. Evening meal was excellent, again lovely staff and very reasonable prices. The pool and spa is really superb and well worth using. It's the biggest jacuzzi we've ever seen! Overall a very pleasurable stay. "
