"Was very disappointed at being charged extra to park the car because we booked through Hotels.com. Only received a refund when we complained and pointed out that had I come and just bought a coffee I would have been eligible for free parking as I would have been considered to be a customer. But not considered to be a customer when staying overnight. "

"Classic old school hotel, presentable but decor from a different era. Very clean. Gardens are stunning. Good location for seafront - about a 5 min walk. Good facilities. Very limited food options, but that might be because we stayed in March. We were very grateful for the room upgrade that we received - they didn't have to do that. "

"The location was brilliant. There was good equipment in the kitchen and the sitting room was comfortable with a great tv. Others have mentioned the water is a bit temperamental but it didn’t affect our stay. I think it could benefit from a deep clean. It wasn’t dirty but needed a bit more care. "

"I loved that old cottage and am glad it is in good use. It's nicely furnished and the village where it is situated is delightful. Two negatives were the dog smell in the lounge and poor state of plants in pots. While the dog smell is probably unavoidable as dogs are allowed, the dead plants brought about a depressing impression. Being a gardener, I tried to look after the remaining plants and had to transplant one huge heuchera plants that was literally hanging in the air as its pot was...

"The thermostats controlling the aircon/heaters were mounted directly in line with the heater outlets so that whenever the heater kicked in the thermostat immediately thought the room had reached the right temperature. This comical setup had been installed in our bedroom and also my sister's room. The name of the installers was, amazingly, printed on the units. The hotel management would be well advised to get the installers back to correct the locations of the thermostats - at no cost to...

"We were not informed of the internet password. We did not have any hotel information available as it transpires the info booklets were behind ghe reception desk. We also tried to walk into the town but could not because the gate is coded. We did not know this prior to walking as we had no info. The radiator in the bathroom was scolding hot. We did advise reception and supposedly it was repaired. Sadly it was not .. we slept with three windows open and two fans running all night! Interestingly...

"Poor Golf Experience. We arrived at 530pm with the hope that we could have a drink at the golf clubhouse, only to be told the bar was closed and the staff were looking to kick out the current guests. Considering golfers were still on course, not what you would expect. The hotel was dated and only seemed to be interested in the health club side, where members were walking in and out of the restaurant area. No real bar, no atmosphere and morale of staff very low due to poor management. We waited...
