"The Beach Hotel is a social enterprise run by the YMCA as an apprenticeship scheme. In light of this we had quite modest expectations for our stay. But these were misplaced - the hotel is spotlessly clean, and run by professional, welcoming staff. The occasion was a large family reunion, and the restaurant served us all with a good simple dinner in an efficient and timely way. Service was excellent. "Highly recommend! Front desk staff member was friendly and helpful as soon as we arrived. The room, including the bathroom, was spotless, spacious and comfortable. We had heavy luggage so they put us on a floor that had a working lift. Great location in the middle of Exeter. Loved the building! Free wifi but not secured with a password."

"Easy to find and had plenty of parking when I arrived. Communication for check in and check out was very good. The ensuite room was great - very clean, nice temperature, and very well-appointed. The lodge does not offer breakfast or dining but is just a 5 minute walk into the city centre. Overall it was great value - can highly recommend and would return. "
