We arrived late in the evening after a long day of travel and they were incredibly accommodating and welcoming from the moment we arrived even though we arrived after check in had ended. The service throughout our stay was excellent — everyone was kind, helpful, and made us feel very taken care of. The breakfast was delicious and a perfect way to start our morning before exploring. One thing we especially appreciated was how gracious they were about storing our luggage for the entire day after checkout while we explored the area. They even helped arrange a tuktuk for us to the train station, which made everything so much easier and stress-free. Highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Ollantaytambo — comfortable, welcoming, and genuinely wonderful hospitality!"

"The staff was incredibly ignorant they were not helpful at all. This is not a four star hotel. The Internet doesn’t work and you are right next to the train. The hotel is loud at night and none of the appliances work and the shower and pipes are old do not believe the pictures."

"Stayed at Hotel Retama Machupicchu during my visit to Machu Picchu. The staff was friendly and super helpful, and the location made it convenient for getting around Aguas Calientes and heading to Machu Picchu early in the morning. The room was clean overall, and I appreciated having a quiet place to rest after a long travel day. There were a few downsides. The hotel is also up a hill and does not have an elevator, which could be difficult with luggage. Breakfast was simple but enough to get started for the day. They made me an omelet to order that was delicious. Overall, it’s a decent option if you want an affordable stay close to Machu Picchu and are mainly looking for a place to sleep and recharge before the trip."
