"I usually stay at properties that are a little higher end, so I was surprised how much I enjoyed my week at Main Stay Suites. The room, bathroom and kitchenette were very clean and the room had lots of desk/counter space for working. Cool A/C. Coffee packs are supplied in the room but they also have good coffee downstairs every morning. The pillows were comfortable - especially for my sore shoulder. And every staff member at the registration desk and that I encountered in the hotel greeted me...

"This was undoubtedly the worst hotel I've ever seen. VERY sketchy people hanging around outside the door. We checked in and saw the room, walked around in disbelief and left IMMEDIATELY.. went to front desk and demanded refund as we were not staying. There were 3 other people in line ahead of us all with serious complaints. Showed manager photos of problems. Room was absolutely nasty and the strong smell hit you immediately when you walked in the door. Still fighting with them a week later. I had booked 2 additional rooms for family but cancelled those as well. The sofa/loveseat was filthy, fridge was filthy, bathtub and toilet were filthy. Ice bucket was filthy. The AC unit had wiring that was loosely rigged up bare wires-to bare wires with electrical tape .. definitely NOT up to code and a HUGE fire hazard. Handrails outside were badly rusted and looked horrible. Swimming pool had not been functional in a very very long time and was a green slimy swamp. Stairwell to second level had trashcan that smelled very very strongly like a county landfill/dump. This hotel was unbelievable."

"Nice property, had events booked up throughout the weekend so definitely a lot of traffic. Would be good to separate parking for paying guests. Front desk not very helpful most of the time, felt like they did not want to help, tons of younger kids running around property knocking on random doors, fun to watch-annoying to sleep. Breakfast was good, would be good if they mixed it up a little. Pool and pool area were terribly cold to the point of not being able to enjoy, that was a big disappointment front desk told us they couldn’t do anything about it. Would also be good if housekeeping checked the garbage in room during our stay. Waiting for charges to post but upon check in what we paid was different than expedia price. Evening reception was bare, celery, carrots dips and trail mix/chips salsa, comp drinks kind of cool."

"Unfortunately we had no hot water for the first 24 hours of our stay. The tv channels did not work because it’s internet tv and the signal was poor. The WiFi did not work well in general. The elevator was broken for the first part of a day and it is the only one. The staff told us the GM was out for personal reasons and could not assist us. The hot water was fixed eventually. They would not provide a refund or discount to our hotel cost."

"We stayed five days…our room was not cleaned once! We had to ask for clean towels and then, when the person brought them, he wouldn’t take the used towels because “he wasn’t allowed to do that.” My brother had no body wash in Hood shower and, Ellen my sister went to open the little box of soap on her bathroom sink, it was empty! I wanted to buy a soda and a candy bar. When I tried to play with a $20, the desk clerk said “Don’t you have anything smaller?” When I said I didn’t, he said “How about a credit card?” When i said no, he said “Well, if you can find a $10, that will be better.” So I got change from another traveler and, when I went to pay for my things, the desk clerk pulled out a cash box with plenty of change in it! My sister was told her room wasn’t cleaned “because you had electronics out.” In the lobby, loud music played continuously…so you could barely hear someone sitting just across from you. Asked for butter for the waffles, only to be told “We have to wait for it to come in…it’s a supply issue.” Really? Then they ran out of forks! Overall, a very disappointing stay and not what I’m used to at La Quinta."
