Très bon séjour

Excellent séjour le personnel est très sympathique ,le petit déjeuner continental copieux et de qualité Hotel très bien situé ,calme, et en bord de plage. Petit bémol sur notre literie le sommier était très bruyant .

Great location, close to everything

Front desk and staff were great, especially Laurent and the woman who served the breakfast. Pool is always spotless and open 24 hours. LOVE this place.

Perfect loacation on orient bay

This was our 7th stay on orient bay...our first at Alamanda. Loved the location, the staff, everything! We originally bked. 2nd floor oceanview deluxe room. Didn't realize it was a bit of a walk for my husband, who uses a cane nd occasional walker to get around. But it was ok. Unfortunately, the tv in our room wasn't working right. They tried to fix it, but the cable wouldn't respond. We were offered another room in the same wing...or knowing my husband had trouble walking, offered us a suite on the first floor. While it did t have the view the original room had, it had everything else! We love it and felt quite spoiled, to,the point that we will try to rent that suite when we return in April. As a side note, every member of the alamanda team was friendly, helpful and professional. We look forward to our next visit!

Great Location!

We had a great stay at the Alamanda. The location is ideal. It's about 1/2 way up Orient Beach and probably the closest hotel to the actual beach. It's a very short walk to amazing restaurants and all of the beach restaurants. The resort is a bit dated, but quite comfortable and clean. Everyone there is very nice and helpful. We had a very small kitchenette area that we used each day to make our own breakfast and to keep some snacks cold in the fridge. The bathroom is clean and spacious enough. The only issue we had was that the tub for the shower is quite narrow and high off the ground. Turning around in it was a bit of a challenge. We checked out several of the local hotels and decided that when we return, we'll select the Alamanda again. It really is great on many levels. Hopefully, we'll return soon!

Close to beach, shops and restaurants

Stayed her for last 12 years, sometimes multitimes a year. Welcoming French atmosphere...best beach on the Island. Feels as if you are in Europe. Have tried other areas to stay....nothing compares

Outstanding location

Alamanda is adjacent to the Orient bay village shops and restaurants, and a very short stroll to the beach and its clubs and amenities. So it is ideally located. Parking is convenient, staff is helpful and friendly. Room and grounds were lovely. A spacious family duplex was ideal for two adults and 2 kids. My family will definitely return.

Stay away!!

To start this off, I just have to make it known I travel a lot! To be conservative about 250 days at least a year. This place is one of the worst! Everyone at the hotel wants a tip and makes it known. At check in the desk person walks me to the room and shows me how to operate the door then goes around and explains how to turn on the AC and the TV and then walks me around the room and then shows me where the bathroom was. Let me tell you everything worked like anywhere else I've been! Floors were dirty and sand all over (including in the bed) at check in. Found 2 obviously used towels which I only found 3 to begin with and when I found a cleaning person she put her hand out for a tip. Continental breakfast was completely European so don't expect much and add on we're way over priced. The bed was a door on a bed frame with 3 bricks for pillows and the bed frame made so much noise every time you moved that it literally woke you up. Free internet but you barely could use it, I couldn't even check my schedule and it's just text! Not to mention that at mid night they turned it off. Oh yeah and no screens on any of the windows so if you don't mind hearing mosquitoes flying around the room between being uncomfortable.

Location

Right across from a beautiful beach. Eating lunch on the beach was easy because we were able to charge our room. Located beside lots of restaurants, small grocery store, and shops. Staff was friendly. Only negative was the tiny mosquitos that ate us up, however we will be returning in July.

Location, Location, Location

This was our fourth visit to Orient Bay and our second visit to l'Alamande. When we return we will go to l'Alamande again. We do not have a single complaint about the hotel. It meets our needs exactly...small quiet hotel ...comfortable, spacious rooms with kitchenette....large clean pool...light breakfast....easy access to a very active beach.....several great dining experiences at your door.

Nice hotel in great spot for beach, restaurants.

Quiet, boutique feel…nothing fancy, which is a plus if you're looking to get away from crowds & mega resorts. Good breakfast, included in price. Steps from the beach. Staff is always helpful. Pool is always pristine. Dependable wifi. The only negative is ever having to leave & of course, missing sunset from this side of the island (but you can get a car at front desk!). We return to Alamanda year after year for a reason…it's comfortable and convenient for us and a 25 minute ride from the airport.

Leuk Caribisch/Frans hotel

Een heerlijk, leuk en vooral kleinschalig Caribisch/Frans hotel. We waren daar ook al in maart 2004, mei 14 en maart 17. Locatie is fantastisch, je loopt zo het strand op en kan heerlijk langs het strand van de baai wandelen. Bij Kakao Beach staan heerlijke strandstoelen en parasols op je te wachten. Op het pleintje (op loopafstand) achter het hotel zijn restaurantjes en even verderop is een heel klein winkelcentrum met een mini-supermarkt waar ze inmiddels wel heel veel verkopen (beetje duur). Personeel van het Alamanda is TOP! Gezellig, vriendelijk,hulpvaardig en Frans- en Engelstalig.Het schijnt dat het hotel in andere handen is overgegaan. Ik hoop dat het hotel een 'overhaul' krijgt, een aantal dingen is echt aan vervanging / verbetering toe.

Extremely nice hotel across from the beach

Staff will do anything to help. Beautiful small hotel with in a small recreated french village. Breakfast is included and very nice. Free chaises on the beach with access to nice restaurants and bars right on the sand.

Great resort, great location.

Perfectly located. Walking distance to beach, five restaurants, multiple bars and grocery store. Staff very friendly. Upon check in, desk clerk escorted me to room, reviewed door lock, room safe, and electrical requirements for my personal electronic devices. Extremely helpful.

Wonderful Vacation Resort

friendly staff, very accommodating, feet from the beach. excellent restaurants with-in a very short walking distance. French bakery local variety store and various small shops to get you daily needs. The resort manager is easy going and will make sure you are satisfied. Beach's are fabulous.

Alamanda guest return year after year!

We have been staying at the Alamanda for the last 5 or 6 years. And we're not the only ones. Each year, like us, people we have met in previous years return to the hotel. One reason is the staff. An indication of the quality of a place is that it retains its staff. Each year we reconnect with the folks who serve the (yummy) continental breakfast, the desk clerks and the housekeepers. Alamanda has a terrific location - a short walk to the beach. Also, the little village where the hotel is located is just a short walk away. The village has 7 or 8 restaurants so you don't have to drive anywhere to enjoy an excellent dinner. The restaurants seem to improve every year. The rooms are spacious with a small table and chairs if you want to enjoy a meal or snack in your room while you look at the pool or the ocean.

Great location close to the beach

Best feature is it is right across from the beach. Two minute walk to good restaurants and food shops. Rooms are nice size with frig and microwave.

Nice and clean hotel near the beach

I experienced a nice smaller hotel adjacent to the beach and a 2 minute walk to several very good French Restaurants and shopping. The location alone sells this place. The hotel itself is a very clean and well run. We experienced a great little complimentary continental breakfast each morning poolside, a couple days we did order off the menu and it was really good. No need to look for staff if you need something, the staff is all around and very pleasant to talk to. They make you feel at home. The hotel itself is very clean and better than most beach hotels on the French side. Spent 9 days here and had no problems or issues at all.
