"The rooms are always cozy and quiet, as well as the bathrooms are AMAZING here. I love the japanese style washroom as well as the beds are comfy. Only complaint is they are a little low to the ground, but the only person who had a problem with that was my parents. Other than that this property is so beautiful and quiet and low key, my favorite place to stay thank you all in Kyoto!!"

"This was a nice little hotel. We were the only non-Asians and I think non-Japanese there. It is a Japanese style hotel. So you’re sleeping on futons on the floor. And the room is to Tommy mats. We had a room with our own outdoor bath, which is nice. The place was clean. The staff were very attentive. The service was excellent. They had a buffet breakfast the first couple days which was OK. Mainly Japanese food. But it was good. Not great. We had a set Japanese breakfast our last two days which was interesting. Very different for Western but very tasty. Great service. Really nice presentation. The onsen was outstanding. They have two one is open 24 hours per day. The other is from 3 PM until 11:30 PM. They provide Japanese robes in your room. Of course the folks use these to walk on down to the onsen and we saw a variety of guests eating breakfast in their robes..They have a nice shop in the hotel for drinks and snacks and gifts. Because it was so empty they did not have a lot of services open. There was no bar or restaurant available. We did have a car so we drove into town to eat and shop. Overall was a very nice place. I liked it. It is a little bit old and dated, but for the true Japanese experience, I think it was great. I would stay there again."
"Nothing to be worried about if you arrive at the property earlier than a check-in time (5:00pm). There is a storage room for your luggage and you can create your own combination locks. At check-in, Front Desk staff will help you to self check-in using your passport(s) and making your own room key(s). Hotel has free WIFI. We stayed in a room with 4 beds and it was very spacious and clean. 4 beds, 2 sinks, 2 hair dryers, a separate toilet area, bath tub, shower, big closet space, plenty of hangers, mini fridge with complimentary bottles of mineral water, plenty of USB outlets and plugs, a TV with streaming options, and a monitor screen. Room service is every 2 days. The location is walkable to many good restaurants, shopping areas, and sites. Taxi are easy to be located outside the hotel. At check-out you can self check out from the TV in your room and just drop the keys off at the front desk. We would recommend this hotel and would return to stay here again if we visit Kyoto in the future."
"Really nice and good sized room, great service from the staff, connected to a 7-Eleven, the interior of the room and hotel as a whole was amazing! :)"
"This was an awesome semi traditional ryokan experience. I will drop me style room was exactly what we were looking for to break up other more western hotels stays.
We booked breakfast but not dinner as we wanted to explore the local areas as well. Breakfast was a traditional Japanese breakfast and as I asked in advance for a vegetarian version they accommodated extremely well and we thoroughly enjoyed a hearty breakfast.
While the property itself is a little rundown, the service was amazing, the room was spotless, and the private hot tub was an added luxury.
They also had a shuttle bus to and from the station on command, which proved extremely helpful & professional.
The one negative was that you had to pay an onsen tax on site at checkin separate to the bill already paid. I thought this was quite cheeky given that it’s an onsen hotel and that’s the whole point of coming… there is also no choice - whether you use it or not, you have to pay the tax (only small but principly we were a bit miffed). Also note that if you have tattoos, you can only use the public bath if you have tattoo coverings. I strongly suggest you purchase these from somewhere else instead of purchasing them at the gift centre as they only have one size and one colour."
