Stayed for one night in Oxford- Room was clean and comfortable - no air conditioning - we had a comfortable night but may be unbearable in warmer weather. Staff was very accommodating - let us store our luggage both before checkin and after. Stairs leading up to room are very steep- but overall an excellent place to stay .
This is a lovely historic building with beautifully appointed rooms and a Five Star Steakhouse. We had the best meal of our entire 16 day trip to the UK-the steak was the most flavorful of any I have ever eaten. An absolute MUST VISIT if you eat red meat.
The only issue we had was the staircase to our room. They did assist us with our heavy bag but it was a chore. Hotels.com should insist on knowing #of stair steps required for those of us who need to know.
Breakfast was delicious-a lovely pub, with beautiful rooms, but being young and healthy is recommended.
This is a nice little high-end pub/inn. We stayed two nights and though the building is old, with wonky floors and tight staircases, it's very warm, cosy and relaxing to stay in.
I would recommend it and stay again next time I'm visiting in Oxford :D Not too far from the city centre either, ~ 20min walk if you're leisurely.
Hotel/Inn and restaurant were both disappointing. Room - no extra amenities, door very difficult to open from inside the room, coffee maker broken, shower very difficult to adjust. Steak at steak restaurant mediocre…difficult to cut. My butter sauce tipped and it took so long for them to bring another that I was finished eating. Only plus was close in proximity to train station and gentleman who was there when we arrived to hold our bags was pleasant and breakfast person tried to get our coffee pot to work for us and concluded that yes indeed it was broken.
