We booked for three families to go from Canada (5 rooms in total) and chose this hotel because of the water slides (there are two slides advertised on the website). On arrival they informed us one was closed for renovation and the other one was closed except for weekends. We are here for five nights and of course Monday through Friday. I spoke to the manager and mentioned how disappointed our children were (5 kids from three families) as this was going to be a highlight. She was dismissive and condescending and said sorry I wasn’t aware. I asked if this information was on the website and she said no. I asked if there were any partner hotels that had pool entertainment for kids that they could offer options to go to instead and she said no. She also said they weren’t able to offer anything as compensation and didn’t feel they needed to let their guests know prior to booking. When I told her how disappointed we were she kept interrupting that in the summer the hours are different. I said it would be great if that was communicated and asked her to stop interrupting to tell me summer hours and she replied that I wasn’t listening to her.
On another note we recently booked at another hotel (in another city) and after booking we received email communication letting us know of their pool Reno. They then offered reciprocal hotels with similar services while they did the renovation. We appreciated the communication to adjust any expectations from the website information.
