"This was a great location for me to visit Galashiels. Its a lovely old manse building with nice clean big rooms and comfy beds. The owners of the guest house were on site, very friendly and welcoming. I had a sound night's sleep and woke to a lovely cooked breakfast with all the trimmings. I couldn't fault my stay. There is plenty parking but lots of free street parking nearby anyway so no issues there. I wouldn't hesitate to book again."

"Amanda was very welcoming when we arrived and a bonus was the free onsite parking and close proximity to the university. It was just what we needed for the one night stay. Unfortunately, the bathroom is a bit dated, and the shower roof is on a slant so I managed to stand upright, just, but any taller and you would struggle. I did appreciate they had left a stool though so you could sit down and not bump your head if you wanted too. Amanda was very kind and apologised when I explained about it....

"We loved our stay!! Clean, great price & amazing host!"

"We had a great stay at this hotel! The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was convenient. Everything went smoothly, and we felt well taken care of throughout our stay. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again!"

"Nice place for what it is but location has 2 big issues. Road noise is extremely high especially very early morning, bring ear plugs. Buses do go direct to central city but are overloaded in the mornings - commuters and lots of school kids. Some buses are so crowded they don’t even stop"

"The guesthouse manager / owner is quite helpful. He helped us as soon as we had any issues. We didn’t get hot water - promptly resolved; we didn’t have a clean kettle - promptly resolved. The location is quite comfortable for commute via transit, with buses available with a half minute walk. Takes 30 mins to get into the city centre. Plenty of car parking available too if needed. One downside - the bedding could have been cleaner. It felt old and musty so we purchased our own and covered up...

"Perfect place for our trip to Edinburgh! We loved staying in Leith as a way to decompress from our busy city days. The neighborhood was quiet, charming, and beautiful. The hospitality at 3 John’s was exceptional. We would happily stay here again."

"The host could not do enough for us, perfectly lovely place"

"Er valt niet veel van te zeggen, de sleutel ligt klaar, voor de rest is er niemand. We hadden de kleine kamer, met bed en wastafel. Deze was prima om in te slapen maar kan een update gebruiken ( behang wat met crepetape wordt vastgehouden)"

"Grosvenor Suites was in a perfect location! Very clean, very comfortable and very easy to check in/out"

"Staff were very helpful,Emmeil was a lovely helpful person to greet us in the morning for breakfast, which was first class!."

"Die Lage ist perfekt. Zu Fuß erreichbar alle wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Auch bis zum Bahnhof. Kostenlose Parkplätze ist in Edinburgh ein Luxus. Haus mit Geschichte!!! Wir haben Zimmer mit eigenem Bad und Toilette gehabt. Das Zimmer wurde täglich gereinigt. Frühstück war auch ausreichend. Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Und Abends ist Live schottische Musik. Vielen Dank."

"The location is ideal - easy parking, a short bus ride into the city or walk to Leith. The welcome from Luke was warm and room 9 is pleasant enough. The free snack and a drop of sherry is a lovely touch. Sandaig House just needs a freshen up in the décor department."

"Do not stay here!! The room and property were nothing like advertised. It was literally a closet with 2 beds and a toilet. The beds had no mattress just box springs! The floor was dirty and carpet was bumpy. The lounge area outside was a trash heap. Absolutely worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. We checked out a day early. I repeat DO NOT STAY HERE!!!"
