"If you're an experienced traveler this hotel would rate above a hostel. I didn't notice the rating before booking but once there it explains the rating. It's a nice quiet place but, there wasn't a phone in the room and the rickety stairs had me worried coming and going. The bedding looked to be a couple years old but, it was clean. "Very basic and comfortable place to rest. This motel is on a very busy and loud(SUVs and motorcycles) corner at the gateway to the American River Rec. area. It is a very short stroll to Auburn historic downtown with pubs and excellent restaurants. It was Uber clean with a great shower. Somewhat worn but, again, location was excellent and wonderful helpful staff. Would definitely stay again."
