"The rooms were clean, public spaces old and dirty. The staff (other then the G.M. ) were very nice. My sons slacks burnt by their illeffective iron and they said they took it apart and investigated it and found nothing wrong but it got hot instantly and on half heat it burnt a big whole as soon as it touched the pants and they refused to pay for them. Irresponsible for a hotel. The damage deposit of 120 is over double the national amount of 50. Rooms are clean but nothing has been updated since building was built."

"When we were looking for a hotel in Tacoma, we saw this Holiday Inn was rated 9.6, so we expected a pleasant stay. However, we had a very disappointing experience. From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff felt robotic; we didn't feel welcomed. When we raised an issue about not being able to connect to the internet, the desk staff offered no solutions and showed zero initiative or willingness to help, just standing there looking at me. This was especially frustrating as the Wi-Fi in the room never worked and the reception was consistently poor throughout our stay. Our room location was also terrible; we were placed on the ground floor right next to the common eating area where parents from a visiting soccer tournament stayed up drinking and chatting loudly until midnight. We could hear their entire conversation clearly from our beds. Then, because breakfast is served at 6:00 AM, we were woken up shortly after by the loud noise of the serving preparation right outside our door. To top it off, the shower head was not working properly—it wouldn't stay up and the water just sprayed outward. The only saving grace was the breakfast, which offered a nice variety of hot, quality selections. However, a good breakfast doesn't make up for the lack of basic hospitality, broken facilities, and a sleepless night. We won’t be staying here again!!"

"The staff were friendly, the room and all areas were clean. I enjoyed the breakfast daily and lemon water. I was able to work out in the gym without noise or interruptions."

"All in all it was a great hotel, but there were ants, not sure if this is a norm in the area? "

"I stayed for 2 hours and checked out. The room was dirty, every surface had film and scum residue on it. Every corner had crumbs and dirt. The room smelled and the walls must be paper thin because it sounded like someone was hitting the floor with a sledge hammer in the room above. U could literally here people's conversation from outside of the building to inside the room with the window closed. It felt unsafe and just overall very uncomfortable. It was the biggest waste of $144 I've ever made. "

"Only complaints I have are, no coffee in room and water pressure in shower was almost non existent. All staff that I interacted with were very welcoming and friendly. There are several restaurants within walking distance with a wide variety of food. Service at the uptown grill was horrible and we actually walked out. If I am ever in the Yelm area again, I would stay here."
