"The staff were very efficient and friendly during check-in. The hotel itself was in a good location, right above the metro "Republique" but was old and not all rooms seemed to have had the refurbishment that was shown in the photos advertising the rooms. It was not sound-proof as we could hear the running of water in the pipes, the rumbling of the underground trains despite windows closed and could hear the shower of the adjacent room too. The bed was comfortable and cosy. The bathroom shower was very small but good shower head pressure. Overall, an OK experience, not such great value for money. Staff compensated us for lack of towels on arrival to the room by giving 5 towels for the 2 of us!"

"The beginning of my stay did not start out well as the Superior Apartment I had paid for was not available. I had to stay in a studio for the first night, and it was ok, but again not ideal. Then the air conditioning didn't work at first, but they fixed it and it worked again... Until it didn't. So I had to sleep one night with my windows open... In Paris... Which is loud. The staff was very nice and accommodating and they did their best, but it was really disappointing. The location is really good though with access to the Metro at the end of the corner. "

"As first time visitors to Paris from Canada, we had a positive experience at Le Grand Quartier. The hotel provided a clean, safe and comfortable stay which allowed us to fully enjoy the sights. "Horrible experience. Within one hour of being there (we checked in at 10pm), there were ants all over the floor and spiders everywhere. We tried to reach someone who worked at the property and they were so unresponsive, the Expedia team got involved and helped us out by calling their management team. Finally someone came to our room and they sprayed a toxic fume to kill the bugs all over the place with us still in the room, we ran out coughing and unable to breathe. We ultimately decided to leave as all of the furniture and our luggage’s were sprayed with this toxic spray. The bottle indicated the room should be evacuated for minimum 4 hours and its 12am at this point so where were we supposed to sleep? The hotel did not have any other room available so we had to relocate and find another accommodation at 1am. The member at the hotel said they’d issue a refund and agreed they made a mistake with spraying the room with the toxic spray. Only for the next day, they declined issuing us a refund. Absolutely horrible experience, I wouldn’t recommend staying here even to my worst enemy."
