"Like many people, I am sensitive to gross, industrial strength perfumed laundry detergent and can get sick from it. The nasty smell from it also attaches itself to your clothes and can be hard to get off, even after you leave a hotel. That’s why, every single time I book a hotel I call before to ask if they use those cleaning products, in the room or on bed sheets or towels. When I called your hotel and asked specifically about this, they said they could arrange the room that way and to call a day before my stay so they could make a note to do it… Now, it would be one thing if I called and someone said, “No, we can’t do that. We prefer using these overpoweringly gross detergents.” But on not one but two separate occasions, someone told me they would arrange for a room without these cleaning products. So, like it or not, it wasn’t just some lapse on my part, and whether intentional or not, it was very dishonest. For people who don’t know much about this, it might not seem like a big deal, but it is overwhelming to deal with, and like I said, can make you sick and be extremely hard to get off of clothes I cannot easily replace. And I did ask specifically about this before arriving. To be fair, when I told the management, they washed the sheets for me in something else, but the smell is so powerful a lot of it was still there for the rest of my stay. Whoever told me they could book a room without those products should face consequences. I will not stay here ever again."
