This facility is lovely, if a little pricey. It is ideal for a relaxing getaway or special occasion. The view of the lake is great and provides an ideal backdrop. The dome is spacious and has everything you need. A little more countertop and food prep area would have improved the experience. There is a nice bbq on the deck but unfortunately no table so you have to eat inside, which I found sad as it would have been nice to watch the boats on the lake whilst eating dinner. There is a good walking trail right next door to work up an appetite. Overall a pleasant experience for our first time staying in a dome.

For a couples romantic breakaway, you couldn’t ask for a better place which is quiet, secluded and the total lap of luxury with every detail thought of and available for you. The view is amazing overlooking the lake and the surrounds of forest, which are totally quiet with no interruptions. One needs to be able to stay for at least two nights to really wind down and relax in total luxury. Will definitely return and stay longer

As soon as I walk in, I realize I can eat off this floor right now. That's how clean this place is. And I was like, d*** this place. This place smells so good. Holy man, look how bougie this place is man. All the lights have dimmer switches. The view is amazing Love the hot tub, but the black flies were brutal. They'll get you.\n But had a wonderful stay and will be back. The black won't bother you after Like 9 or 10 o'clock. And iwas like damn look at the shower head that's crazy.

We found Nalu Retreat to be a true gem! The Dome was just like it appears in the photos. Everything was clean, clean, clean and tastefully done. As a former boutique hotel manager & chef I was impressed with the attention to detail. Comfortable leather sofa, extra throws, nature sounds, plenty of plugs, kitchen supplies, Robes, Turkish towels, goodies in the kitchenette, too many to mention. We were enthralled with the setting and enjoyed our time in the hot tub and the privacy surrounding us. We didn’t have the opportunity to use the fire pit but appreciated it being there of hope to get a chance next visit. We would love to go back and stay longer. The staff is responsive and friendly. Three things that might make for an even better stay. (1). The retreat sends you a video that you must watch to receive the WIFI instructions. I did not see that email until we were on Myra Road approaching the driveway and just then we lost cell service. (2.) You may lose cell service approaching the retreat. That made for a stressful hour or so…driving back in the opposite direction to find wifi/cell service to continue watching the video…then retrace our drive to find the dome. Maybe it could be sent to guests earlier? (3). The bed itself was not so great, a high end mattress would make a longer stay much more enjoyable and would fit well with all the other top notch amenities this lovely place has to offer. Book it! You will love it!

The most beautiful setting. Luxuriously appointed. In fact, more so than any of the 5 star hotels we stayed at on our trip through NS. Worth the 30 minute drive from DT Halifax. Will be back and will dream of it till then.

A beautiful, unique stay. Glamming at its best. You have your own fire pit and hot tub. Views of the lake from your private deck. Better amenities than a hotel. Great Wi-Fi too.

One of the nicest accommodations I’ve stayed at - Dome 1 was beautifully furnished and decorated, well-stocked and spotless, with all amenities needed and then some. The views were majestic - from the scenic lake to the starry sky at night while in the hot tub. Service was top notch and super responsive. Can’t wait to go back!

PERFECTIO

We were upgraded to dome 3 with a better view. Everything was absolutely perfect, and I don’t often give perfect reviews. Comfort is second to none, all possible amenities are present, everything feels brand new and is well thought-out, the view is magnificent, wifi works well, I really can’t even find one nit to pick. We would absolutely stay here again if we came back. Bonus: great hiking trails walking distance from the resort!

We stayed in Dome 1 and it had a lovely view of the woods and lake. The surroundings and the dome itself were quiet and serene. The Dome was outfitted beautifully and all of the conviences you would need. This is a great place to unplug, rest and reconnect with nature. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this experience. For additional information, if you like to prepare foods or want to eat on site, the dome has a good set up for this. If you are looking to eat out, everything is a 15 to a 25 minute drive. There are hiking trails very close to the Domes but I would not consider the property or surrounding neighborhood walkable. The domes also have views of the lake but there is not direct access to it. You would have to drive to the lake public entrance.

The check in time and check out time killed it for me. Also the $500 deposit that takes 7 days to reimburse. Check in time is after 4pm and the check out time is 10am for cleaning purposes. So they need 6 hours to clean apparently Anyways, not worth the amount they charge per night for the zero flexible time to check in and out

With full transparency, I had no idea what I was getting into with respect to the Nalu Retreat property near Halifax. I'm not a Yoga person, or really a "laid back" person. I like action and adventure - but I was needing a place to lay my head in the Halifax area on September 23rd, 2026 for the one night, flying in from Winnipeg. Checking out the Expedia site for accommodation, I saw the "Domes" and thought that was kinda cool & unique. So, I took a bit of a gamble and booked. I definitely hit the jackpot with this property! I got in late (11:45pm), but the directions & instructions provided by Sandy were excellent. While there was some path light assisting in finding my "dome", it was the clear sky and the very bright stars that paved my way. What a glorious surprise when I finally got into the room. I was expecting rustic, what I got was beyond 5-stars! Gorgeous amenities, perfect bed, programmable fireplace, bathroom, etc - all well beyond clean and inviting. I LOVED the absence of tv & radio (although the wifi does work perfectly), so it provided a very calm and inviting refuge. My 30+ daughter and one year old granddaughter picked me up the following morning to take me to Halifax. My "boujee" daughter could not believe the accommodation, vista and all round "vibe" of Nalu. My wife and I are making plans to come back in the fall of 2027 for a longer stay and a chance to truly enjoy all this retreat has to offer. On a scale of 1 to 10, this is a definite 11!
